Whitney Purvis “Can’t Imagine Going On” After Son Weston’s Death

Whitney Purvis is dealing with the unimaginable.

Following the former star of “16 and Pregnant” disclosing that her 16-year-old son Weston Gosa Jr. passed away on June 2, she has spoken candidly about her journey through sorrow and despair.

In the interview with People on June 5, Whitney admitted that she finds it challenging to divert her thoughts, as they persistently linger. She dislikes even the idea of checking her phone.

When I’m not lost in thought, I find myself gazing at the ceiling. Truth be told, I didn’t want to experience anything like this. It’s something everyone tries to avoid, yet it always seems unimaginable until it happens. To be honest, I can barely picture a future for myself now, let alone moving on after this.

Before Whitney, mother of their shared 11-year-old son River with Weston Gosa, received a call from her ex-husband, they had a recent disagreement causing her to not answer immediately. However, when she got a “911” text from him in response, she instantly understood that something serious was happening.

As soon as I picked up the phone, his sobs were clear before he even spoke, and I instantly knew things weren’t going to be good.

She went on to say, “His words left me utterly stunned.” She explained further, “He disclosed everything he knew at the moment, promising to get back to me. I immediately left the parking lot, sped home, and let out a series of loud screams in my car – screams that echoed loudly.

As the family is yet to receive autopsy findings about Weston’s cause of death, Whitney disclosed that Weston Sr. reviewed footage from home security cameras and noticed their son was having trouble sleeping the previous night. On the following day, he discovered Weston unresponsive.

According to Whitney, Big Weston entered Little Weston’s room around seven in the morning to rouse him, but he failed to awaken. They then made an emergency call to 911, and Big Weston performed CPR until the ambulance arrived. Tragically, they declared Little Weston dead at the hospital.

“I didn’t want it to be real,” she added. “I didn’t understand what happened.”

Ever since the heart-wrenching incident, Whitney has been struggling to engage with others as she works through her feelings.

She confided in the source that she’s been yearning for solitude. She explained, “I experience such a whirlwind of emotions – feeling sad, angry, it’s just been incredibly tough. I’ve never cried as much as I have lately, to the point where my eyes are swollen.

As a lifestyle advisor, I’d like to share my insights about someone named Weston. When Whitney introduced him on MTV back in 2009, everyone around him was accustomed to seeing him as a beacon of positivity in their lives.

She exclaimed that he was timid, yet possessed an mature spirit. He held a deep affection for creatures great and small, winning friends effortlessly wherever he ventured. Kindness radiated from him like sunshine, making him a remarkable young man. Witty and handsome, he was an exceptional individual.

She commented, “He was an absolutely flawless child. There wasn’t the slightest hint of mischief from him. He was incredibly intelligent, extremely shy, and an exceptional elder sibling.
