Who Are the Glind? Dragon Ball’s Newest Demon Species Revealed

As a long-time fan of Dragon Ball, I must say that the latest revelations in Dragon Ball Daima have truly taken my breath away! The introduction of the Glind and their connection to the Supreme Kai is nothing short of mind-blowing. It’s like discovering that Yoda was actually a Sith Lord or that Santa Claus was secretly the Easter Bunny all along.

The latest installments of “Dragon Ball Daima” have been gradually unveiling intriguing details about the Demon Realm. A significant enigma was ignited with the disclosure of the Supreme Kai’s ancestral demon species, the Glind, in the most recent episode. In the newest episode of “Dragon Ball Daima”, the series has ventured into the Demon Realm as the Supreme Kai and Goku team up with Glorio and embark on a journey to the Third Demon World to meet its ruler. Earlier episodes hinted at the Kais’ demon connections, but the latest episode offers a more definite update.

It was quite surprising to discover that Namekians originate from the Demon Realm, and “Dragon Ball Daima” deepened this shock with the disclosure that beings with pointed ears are likely demons too. This applies to the Supreme Kai as well, given that not only does he have siblings residing in the First Demon World, but it’s now confirmed that his species, the “Glind,” is demonic and holds a negative image among other demons due to their rigid reputation.

What are the Glind?

In Episode 3 of Dragon Ball Daima, Goku and the Supreme Kai are led by Glorio into the Demon Realm’s Third World, which is the only one they have permission to enter among the three separate areas within this realm. The Supreme Kai finds the concept of needing clearance and a PIN number to access certain regions peculiar, and his suspicions towards Glorio grow as a result. Conversely, Glorio also appears to be skeptical about the Supreme Kai’s intentions.

It later becomes clear why the Supreme Kai had never been to the Third Demon World before, as he appears surprised upon seeing it. Glorio suggests this is because the Supreme Kai is a Glind, originating from the Second Demon World. Glorio further explains that Supreme Kais of their “refined kind” typically don’t visit the Third Demon World due to lack of reason, thus raising questions about the nature of these beings and their role in becoming a Supreme Kai across different universes in the larger cosmos.

How Does This Change the Supreme Kai?

The fact that the Supreme Kai comes from a demon race has raised questions about the process of becoming a god of a universe. This is because unlike his brother and sister, he was able to leave the Demon Realm. Despite this connection to demons, the Supreme Kai has never shared any information about it. Previous Dragon Ball lore suggested that they all originated from the same source. However, each character in the story pursues their own individual aims.

Given that we’ve learned the Supreme Kai is a Glind, a race with a questionable reputation among demons, it seems their journey through the Demon Realm might become more challenging. Many demons may not agree with the Glind due to their arrogant nature, making their path even tougher. Particularly if only Glind can ascend to deity status in the outside world. However, as Dragon Ball Daima unveils additional secrets of the Demon Realm, we may uncover more about the Supreme Kai’s history and background.
