Who left Strictly 2024? Fifth celebrity to be voted out revealed

As someone who has always admired the courage and determination displayed by contestants on Strictly Come Dancing, I have to say that Punam Krishan’s journey this season was nothing short of inspiring. A doctor by profession and a mother by choice, she dared to step out of her comfort zone and learn something entirely new – dancing.

Strictly Come Dancing 2024’s Halloween Week saw another couple bid farewell to the ballroom.

2021’s spooktacular performance featured outstanding costumes, particularly from Craig Revel Horwood and Anton Du Beke who portrayed the twins from The Shining. Additionally, the performances were exceptionally scary good, with Jamie Borthwick and Sarah Hadland leading the pack in the leaderboard, while Aljaž Škorjanec broke his own Halloween Samba record alongside Tasha Ghouri.

Following the weekend’s performances, the public votes and judge’s scores were tallied – unfortunately, this resulted in Punam Krishan and Shayne Ward having to face off in a dance-off.

As a passionate movie-goer, let me share my delight as I watched Punam and her partner, Gorka Marquez, gracefully dance the Tango once more to Sweet Dreams by the Eurythmics. On the other hand, Shayne and his partner Nancy Xu electrified the audience yet again with their powerful Paso Doble set to Edvard Grieg’s In the Hall of the Mountain King.

Once they had exhausted all their efforts to remain in the contest, it was now up to the Strictly judges – Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse, Craig, and Anton – to deliver their final decision.

In the world of dance, I found myself in the position of a judge, as we collectively decided not to eliminate Punam Krishan and Gorka Marquez from this year’s Strictly competition. Regrettably, they were the quintet who had to leave the dance floor in 2024.

After chatting with Tess Daly, here’s what the doctor shared with me: “I must admit, I’m quite impressed with myself. You see, I’ve tackled something beyond my usual comfort zone, and it’s been quite an eye-opener. One crucial lesson I’ve picked up is to say ‘yes’ more often, as there’s always room in life for acquiring new abilities. Learning never truly stops, and every moment presents a fresh opportunity to grow.

I’ve not only picked up dance moves, but also valuable lessons from Gorka. Everybody has been amazing, and these experiences will be treasured memories for life. I feel incredibly proud, especially knowing that I’ve made my family proud too. I’m truly thankful.

Gorka remarked: “It’s been amazing, absolutely brilliant for the past six weeks. I am extremely proud of her accomplishments. She is not only a General Practitioner but also a mother. Prior to this, she had no dancing experience, and I believe she progressed significantly each week.

It seems that she’s the central figure of the show; an individual without prior performance background who managed to learn dancing here. She was determined to excel and put in a tremendous amount of effort.

Additionally, it fills me with great pride and humility to have participated in the Bollywood dance, as it provided an opportunity to display your culture on a global stage, thereby opening up possibilities for countless individuals within it.

Meanwhile, Amy Dowden missed out on the results show, as her representative announced that she was rushed to the hospital on Saturday evening due to feeling ill.

Amy wasn’t feeling great, so it was decided to summon an ambulance out of caution, according to a statement from her representative. She is now feeling significantly better and wishes to express her gratitude to the Strictly community for their care and concern.

“We request Amy’s privacy in matters of health is kindly respected.”
