As a long-time fan of Coronation Street, I must say that this week’s episode was a rollercoaster of emotions! The storyline involving Sarah Platt and her ex, Damon Hay, has kept me on the edge of my seat.
Tonight’s episode of Coronation Street (11th October 2024) saw a fresh enigma unveiled as Damon Hay’s (Ciarán Griffiths) hidden cache was purloined, well before his former partner, Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien), had any inkling of its existence.
Sarah’s child, known as Bethany or Lucy Fallon, ended up in the hospital due to complications from a poorly executed cosmetic surgery. These complications included sepsis, a perforated bowel, and pneumonia. As a result, Bethany now needs to live with a permanent stoma.
In prison, Damon heard the news and left Sarah a voicemail offering her the money he had hidden.
Since Sarah couldn’t reach her messages, she requested Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) to look into it for her. Later, Adam confronted Damon, who asserted that his intentions were sincerely aimed at assisting her.
In simpler terms, during the ongoing TV show, Adam’s uncle Daniel Osbourne (played by Rob Mallard) instructed Adam to erase a voicemail. However, before Adam could do so, Jesse Chadwick (portrayed by John Thomson) approached him, interrupting Adam’s conversation about the matter with Daniel.
Later on, it was unveiled to unsuspecting Sarah that Adam had disclosed Damon’s proposition. This revelation left Sarah seething, as she felt Adam had made a choice for her without her consent.
After she had composed herself, Sarah remembered that Damon had suggested they sever all ties, and Adam advised her against reaching out to Damon again.
Disregarding the advice given, Sarah eventually reached out to Damon, admitting that she just discovered about the money not long ago.
Damon thought Sarah must have already taken the money, but Sarah quickly pointed out that she hadn’t even approached it at all.
However, upon verification by Damon’s partner that the safe was empty, it appears someone else made off with the cash!
Who has taken Damon’s dodgy cash? Sarah will suspect Jesse next week, but is he really the thief?
