The winner of the 2025 season of The Piano on Channel 4 has been revealed.
As the day of their final concert in the United Kingdom approached, Mika and Jon Batiste faced a crucial choice after having journeyed relentlessly throughout the country.
This evening’s performance on the 25th of May featured seven aspiring pianists overcoming pre-show jitters as they showcased their skills on stage at the packed Glasshouse in Gateshead.
As a movie enthusiast, I couldn’t help but be moved by a stunning series of performances last night. In my opinion, Mika and Jon made the perfect choice in selecting Diana as the standout performance of the evening.
In a moment of speechlessness due to receiving the award and the applause echoing from the auditorium, Diana graciously took the opportunity to express her gratitude towards Mika and Jon for “all they had done.

In a heartfelt manner, the 87-year-old expressed: “I’m deeply grateful for your incredible response to my music. Incredible doesn’t even begin to describe it.” Overwhelmed by emotion, Diana struggled to complete her speech, yet she was met with warm applause and cheers from everyone in the room, a fitting tribute to her achievements.
However, the surprises continued to unfold, with Mika and Jon announcing that this year, just like in the previous season, all seven finalists would receive a piano as a gift.
Initially, Diana impressed Jon and Mika at the Newcastle train station with a rendition of her own song titled “Dreams,” leaving them in awe.
Catch the moment below.
Mika expressed genuine satisfaction, saying, “[We’re] truly thrilled,” rather than boasting about the sale of 10 million albums. Instead, it’s more like appreciating, “Look, they’ve got an interesting life,” which is a wonderful event to witness in someone’s journey.
