Growing up, these teams were an integral part of my footballing world, and their absence in the game feels like a piece of my childhood has been taken away.
In this text, it’s explained that Inter Milan and AC Milan, two prestigious football clubs with a rich history in both Italian and international football, are absent from FC 25 for a specific reason, which we will discuss below.
On both teams, there are numerous standout players such as Theo Hernandez and Nicolò Barella. However, identifying which team each player belongs to might not be instantly obvious at first glance.
This isn’t unusual in FC, with Napoli and Juventus also missing in previous years.
However, despite being the favorite to win the Scudetto this season, an historically successful Italian team in European competitions is not participating. Keep reading to discover the reason behind their absence.
Are Inter and AC Milan in FC 25?
As a die-hard movie buff scanning through the list of Serie A teams, it’s hard to ignore the absence of two iconic Italian clubs – the charismatic Atalanta and the enigmatic Lazio. Surprisingly, neither of these captivating teams are officially part of the league, making for a less cinematic experience.
The positive aspect is that the teams exist, albeit in a somewhat unconventional manner. They operate under distinct aliases, wear counterfeit jerseys, and play in simulated stadiums. If you’re interested in following these squads, they are known as:
- Inter: Lombardia FC
- AC Milan: Milano FC
- Atalanta: Bergamo Calcio
- Lazio: Latium
Regrettably, there are several factors at play, but chief among them is the loss of authenticity the change brings, and unfortunately, this alteration erases the iconic San Siro stadium from the scene altogether.
In Ultimate Team, it doesn’t significantly affect gameplay, but it’s tough to ignore that four teams in the league are using pseudonyms, which is quite evident in Kick-Off and Career Mode.
Why are Inter and AC Milan not officially in FC 25?
Those teams that have entered into exclusive agreements with Konami will feature in the game eFootball, but you won’t see them in FC 25.
The rights in Italian football work slightly differently, so they can appear exclusively in one.
Luckily, the players aren’t part of this situation, so feel free to opt for Real Face players, as they are still an option. In terms of the Konami deal, it is described as a “long-term” agreement with no specified ending date mentioned.
If you’re not aware, Konami’s eFootball game is a soccer game that can be played for free. Previously, it was known as the Pro Evolution Soccer franchise, but has been reborn under a new name.
