Why Arie Luyendyk Jr. and Lauren Burnham Struggle With Social Media

Social media can be the perfect place to fall in love with your favorite celebrities.

Because of this, Arie Luyendyk Jr., a past Bachelor, along with his wife Lauren Burnham Luyendyk, have opted to allow their 2 million Instagram followers to like pictures featuring their daughter Alessi (who is 6) and their 4-year-old twins Lux and Senna.

In a unique interview with TopMob News, Arie shared his thoughts, saying, “Our activities with our children seem to serve as inspiration for other parents. They also appreciate the way we nurture them.

Currently, they enjoy sharing photos from their Washington, D.C. adventure or creating videos about hairstyling techniques, along with travel vlogs.

Additionally, it’s worth noting that they are eager to form connections with their supporters, but the 43-year-old also admitted that their approach might evolve over time.

Arie admitted, “We grapple with this issue, as we’re a publicly recognized family. We share our children on the internet, which is something we find challenging: deciding whether to keep our children private or expose them to the wider world.

And he hopes their fans will accept that their journey is constantly evolving.

Arie mentioned that as the children grow up a bit, it’s likely they won’t need to be online much. However, at present, he finds it suitable for them to be online.

And the former race car driver has proven he’s not afraid to change lanes.

After they had twin babies, having been married for six years, he chose to put an end to expanding their family, opting for a vasectomy in 2022.

When the twins arrived in 2021, Alessi was already two years old, a stage Arie found particularly challenging. “She was just beginning to interact with us,” he mused. “At that time, we felt a bit guilty because so much focus had to be on the twins.

Arie admitted that the previous months with three children under three were undeniably tough. However, once the twins celebrated their third birthday last summer, he found the situation noticeably less prickly.

In a candid confession, the reality star acknowledged that it was indeed Senna who inspired him to undergo the vasectomy reversal. He found her irresistibly adorable.

Arie emphasized, “I don’t mean to detract from Lux’s charm in any way,” he said about his son. “Lux is adorable as well, but Senna’s sweet demeanor and the way she communicates really captivates me. Moreover, Senna being a Daddy’s girl has certainly persuaded me that we should consider having another child.

So he asked his bride if he could steal her for a sec.

Lauren exclaimed, “Wow, you said you were completely finished!” Arie remembered. To which he responded, “I did. But just look at how adorable she is. Maybe we could have another one like her.

Come September, they will, with another little girl set to join their burgeoning bouquet.

Speaking as a lifestyle expert, let me share my sentiments: The last time we had twins was quite a challenge for us, but this time around, with a singleton pregnancy, Lauren and I are feeling more than ready to take it on. Compared to the twin situation, I’m optimistic that this will be a breeze. Fingers crossed, I’m hoping this experience will be similar to our delightful journey with Alessi.

Though he does expect to be competing a bit for one-on-one time.

Arie expressed that the girls are genuinely excited about the prospect of caring for a new baby, as they eagerly anticipate its arrival. He mentioned that having their initial three children so close in age was indeed tough, but with a four-year age gap between them now, it will be advantageous. Arie further speculated that the twins and Alessi might lend a helping hand.

And they have quite the teacher in the Lauren.

Arie enthusiastically remarked that the 33-year-old woman is undeniably well-suited for motherhood. He praised her remarkable patience and her unique ability to consider situations from an alternative perspective, particularly regarding the children’s education and the recreational activities they engage in.

Which is why he’s been enjoying their current season so much.

Arie mused that helicopter tours over Machu Picchu and hikes were wonderful, yet he felt as though he was experiencing “the exact instance I’ll reminisce about when I’m elderly, saying, ‘This is the essence of life,'” reflecting his enjoyment. Reminded by older parents we encounter, those with teenagers or college-aged kids, they often long for “those days to return.

In addition, they aren’t the only couple associated with franchises who are peering towards a decidedly bright future in heaven. Here are some other franchise veterans you might want to take a look at.

Status: Separated

Grant Ellis had the chance to meet 25 potential love interests on his first night in the Bachelor mansion, but it was Juliana Pasquarosa who caught his final rose. Unfortunately, the couple chose to end their relationship just under three months after their proposal aired on television.

Grant expressed on his Instagram Story on June 13 that he found writing this difficult but felt it was important to be truthful. He and Juliana have chosen to part ways in their relationship. Despite both of them putting forth their best efforts, investing lots of love into each other, they have realized through deep conversations that they are not compatible for the long term.

Status: Engaged

After starring in the inaugural season of “The Golden Bachelor” and leaving Gerry Turner’s season prematurely, Joan Vassos then took on the role as the leading lady in the first season of “The Golden Bachelorette”. It was during this show that she met and became engaged to contestant Chock Chapple.

Joan expressed during The Golden Bachelorette’s November 2024 finale that despite whatever challenges life presents, there is always hope – even for us at our stage. In a breathtaking setting in Bora Bora, she shared, “I’ve been holding onto this secret since the beginning, and now I can finally tell you: I love you deeply, and I want to spend every remaining moment of my life with you. I long for the days when I can start my day next to you, and I eagerly await the nights when I can share a kiss goodnight with you.

Status: Divided

During the season 21 finale of The Bachelorette, it seemed like Bachelor alum Jenn Tran had found her perfect match in her final pick, Devin Strader. However, Jenn disclosed on After the Final Rose back in September 2024 that Devin turned cold towards her as soon as the cameras were switched off.

During the September 3rd episode, Jenn explained to host Jesse Palmer that he was previously making grand declarations of affection, but the next day, he acted as if nothing had happened and denied ever being in love. She added that all the promises he made to her, along with the love he claimed to have for her, seemed to vanish.

The events unfolded further as Devin posted a 13-minute video on Instagram, detailing his perspective and accepting accountability for certain aspects. Moreover, he disclosed reasons behind his decision to end the relationship during a lengthy 15-minute phone conversation.

Instead of saying that Jenn accused him of ending their relationship over the phone in August, he stated that Jenn pressed him for answers about their problems and wanted him to tell her in person, which is why he felt he needed to end things during a call.

He admitted that he was unsure of what other option to take, implying he had been planning to discuss it face-to-face. In essence, she pushed him towards making the decision.

Following that, Jenn gracefully made her way towards “Dancing With the Stars” and into the affection of her partner, Sasha Farber. They carried on dancing as a pair beyond their elimination in October 2024, but parted ways in 2025.

In November 2022, Greg Grippo, a former suitor from Katie Thurston’s season of The Bachelorette, formed a relationship with Victoria Fuller on Bachelor in Paradise’s eighth season finale. However, by April 2024, they had parted ways.

Previously, Victoria Fuller and Johnny DePhillipo were engaged, but before they could confirm their relationship publicly on the finale of Bachelor in Paradise’s eighth season, their romance had already come to an end.

Marital Status: Previously Married (Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist) – They became engaged in November 2023 on the final episode of the premiere season of “Golden Bachelor,” and they were married during a live broadcast wedding in January 2024.

However, three months after their nuptials, the couple announced that they were breaking up.

During their interview on Good Morning America with Theresa in April 2024, Gerry stated, “Theresa and I have had many deep discussions about our relationship, examining aspects like our living situation among other things. We’ve reached a mutual agreement that it seems appropriate to end our marriage.

They reached a divorce settlement in June 2024, according to court records reviewed by TopMob News.

Back in April 2025, Gerry disclosed on the “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast that he had a new love interest and things were progressing positively.

Relationship Status: Betrothed
After courting 32 potential partners, tennis player Joey Graziadei found his ideal mate in project manager Kelsey Anderson. “I can’t delay any longer to express my love for you,” Joey conveyed to the recipient of his final rose, during the finale of the season in March 2024. “There is something special about you. You have this contagious energy that makes me grin. It’s a sensation I’ve never felt before.”
Envisioning a lifetime with the woman from Louisiana, he added, “I had an idea of wanting to live a beautiful life, but I truly didn’t realize how breathtakingly wonderful that life could be until I encountered you.

Despite not initially connecting until halfway through season nine of “Bachelor in Paradise”, underwater welder John Henry Spurlock and nurse Kat Izzo were ready to take a chance. As he presented an Ascher cut Neil Lane diamond, he expressed his unique approach, “I’m going to try something a little different today. My heart is guiding me, telling me that you are amazing, everything I have been searching for.”

However, a few days after the season finale, they announced their separation. “Though our lives are taking separate paths due to conflicting career aspirations,” they shared in a joint Instagram post, “we appreciate the love and encouragement we’ve received from our families, friends, and Bachelor Nation.

In summary, despite her initial apprehensions about the proposal from Aaron Bryant during their Paradise encounter, Eliza Isichei (previously linked to Clayton Echard) gracefully accepted. Moved by his gesture of consulting her mother for approval, she expressed, “I knew I wasn’t in charge of what words would come out.”

The final episode’s conclusion hinted that Eliza and her partner had encountered challenges following their time in Mexico, and shortly thereafter, they announced their official separation. Expressing his feelings on Instagram in December 2023, Aaron wrote, “Navigating these complex emotions as I watch everything unfold. We’re parting ways amicably, with nothing but positivity and mutual respect for each other.

As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but share my thoughts on the heartbreaking tale of Kylee Russell and Aven Jones. Despite her dreams of a romantic proposal, as portrayed during his time on The Bachelorette with Rachel Recchia, Aven chose Paradise instead. He proposed, and she, driven by love’s unpredictable allure, agreed to give it a shot, even if it meant leaving her carefully chosen engagement dress untouched.

Two days following their December 2023 finale, Kylee shared on Instagram that their relationship had come to an end due to repeated infidelities. Aven later expressed his regret and remorse, acknowledging the mistakes he made that caused pain in their bond. He wrote, “I have made major blunders in our relationship and hurt someone who was very dear to me.

Status: Engaged

Charity Lawson playfully shared with TopMob News her excitement about the season’s outcome, but her August 2023 finale was far more momentous. Integrative medicine specialist Dotun Olubeko knelt down and declared their love as “perfect,” asking the child and family therapist, “Will you make our fairytale a reality by becoming my wife?”

Although their wedding date is yet to be decided (possibly in 2025 or 2026), Charity has a different engagement first – dancing on Dancing With the Stars. On The Bachelorette: After the Final Rose, Dotun told Charity, “You love to dance and have fun, remember our conversations about this amazing opportunity? Well, I’m thrilled to announce that you will be competing on Dancing With the Stars! Let’s do this together!

As a diehard fan, I can’t help but feel overjoyed for Zach Shallcross! Despite a few bumps along the Fantasy Suite road, Zach found his perfect match when he popped the question in March 2023. With tears of joy streaming down his face, he declared to travel nurse Kaity Biggar, “You are my world. The love I feel for you is indescribable.”

Fast forward to July 2023, and this Texas-based couple took their relationship to the next level, officially becoming roommates! Kaity shared the exciting news on Instagram, filling our hearts with even more joy for these two lovebirds. Here’s to many more years of happiness for Zach and Kaity!

They married on May 23, 2025.

Status: Broke Up

Ah, Mom and Dad. Despite parting ways during season seven of BIP without a Neil Lane diamond, Danielle Maltby, who tragically lost her fiancé to drug overdose before competing on Nick Viall’s season, and single dad Michael Allio (father of 7-year-old James) initially appeared destined for Bachelor Nation power couple status.

However, a year after Maltby moved from Nashville to Ohio to be with Allio, he confirmed they had parted ways. “We both put a lot into this relationship, and it’s heartbreaking when it doesn’t work out,” Allio shared on a September 2023 episode of Jason Tartick’s Trading Secrets podcast. “When relationships don’t work out, when you realize that love is there but you’re not necessarily compatible, you mourn the loss, not just of that person and your friendship in your life, but also the future that you had envisioned.

Brandon Jones expressed his deep affection for Serene Russell during their appearance on season seven of Paradise, declaring he would love her until the end of time. However, their romantic journey did not last long. Five months after their engagement aired, they announced their separation in a joint Instagram statement dated May 2023. They acknowledged that maintaining their relationship under public scrutiny had been extremely challenging and expressed that the breakup was a painful experience, asking for understanding and kindness.

Status: The relationship between pilot Rachel and general contractor Tino Franco encountered a halt when he was seen kissing another woman during their 2022 season broadcast. In an interview on “The Viall Files,” he admitted, “I in no way condone my actions. It was not appropriate, it wasn’t fair to Rachel, and I regret it deeply every day. It’s something I’m ashamed of and if I could do it differently, I would a million times over.

The situation: Separation

Well, it was quite an adventure! Susie Evans, during the 2022 finale, initially turned down Bachelor Clayton Echard‘s proposals, but later reconciled with him off-camera…only to separate six months afterwards. However, Susie, a videographer based in L.A., explains that their breakup was necessary for the right reasons. In a November 2022 post on her blog “Susie Was Like,” she mentioned that her vitality seemed to fade and she was not living up to her best self. She admitted they shared many happy moments, but deep down, she felt troubled and out of sync with her ideal self.

After dating Justin Glaze, a participant from Bachelor Nation, Susie subsequently parted ways with him. The split was confirmed in August 2024.

Status: Separation

Minnesota elementary school teacher Michelle accepted a Neil Lane sparkler from Texas-based sales executive Nayte Olukoya and a $200,000 check from producers for their future home. However, after six months since their season finale aired in December 2021, they announced their breakup.

On The Viall Files, Nayte admitted that there were many highs and lows, numerous arguments, fights, and ultimately not finding common ground. He also acknowledged that not having the final split conversation in person was “a dick move.”

Later in 2023, Michelle began dating Jack Leius and announced their engagement the following year.

The duo from BIP season seven, Maurissa Gunn and Riley Christian, shared a dream of leisurely Sunday mornings with viewers. However, their time together was limited to just a few weekends. In a joint statement issued in January 2022, their coordinator Maurissa (who had a romantic connection with Peter Weber) and attorney Riley (one of Tayshia Adams’ suitors), expressed that they have decided to move apart. They never anticipated this situation, but they now find themselves at a stage where they both require focus on personal growth.

Status: Split

As a diehard enthusiast, I can’t help but reminisce about the historic moment when Bachelor Nation’s pioneering same-sex couple exchanged rings during Season 6 of “Bachelor in Paradise”. However, the bittersweet memories resurface as they shared their separation news on Halloween, 2019.

In simpler terms, they expressed that their shared affection and concern have been key in their relationship since the beginning. Their main focus has been making decisions that benefit them as a couple. With deep affection for each other, they’ve chosen to step back from their relationship. They aim for what is best for both of them over the long term, and currently, that means growing separately.

Current Status: Engaged

Despite parting ways during the seventh season of ‘The Bachelorette’, Noah Erb and Abigail Heringer found themselves forever bound by their love. Initially residing in San Diego, this travel nurse (remember, she vied for Tayshia’s heart) and financial manager (he was the recipient of Matt James’ first impression rose) recently made a significant move, purchasing a home in his hometown of Tulsa. Abigail expressed her excitement on Instagram in July 2023, saying, “Getting ready to enter our Chip and Joanna Gaines era because your girl just bought her very first house!!!” She continued, “Looking forward to starting our next chapter and creating countless memories here!”, hinting at some upcoming wedding plans. Prior to their relocation, Noah popped the question at a San Diego beachfront home in August 2023.

In informal and conversational language:

Serena Pitt and Joe Amabile, both reality TV stars, decided to tie the knot earlier than their grand wedding in September 2023. They chose to exchange vows at City Hall close to their New York City residence, about a year after leaving ‘Paradise’ as an engaged couple. Serena, who now co-hosts the ‘Bachelor Happy Hour’ podcast with her husband, posted a video in October 2022 with the caption, “JUST MARRIED !!” She added, “We’re still having a big wedding in September, but who wouldn’t want to get married twice?

As a lifestyle expert, I’d rephrase that heartwarming moment like this:

“Kenny Braasch, a seasoned band manager, expressed his profound love for Mari Pepin, saying, ‘Mari, I am utterly and completely in love with you,’ during the finale of Paradise in 2021. He continued, ‘I can’t fathom my life without you.’ After their romantic journey together, which included a move from Maryland to his hometown of Chicago, Mari and Kenny, who were eliminated by Tayshia Adams in week five of the show, decided to make their love everlasting. Before their oceanfront wedding in Puerto Rico in November 2023, they made a symbolic gesture of their commitment during a trip to the Bahamas in May 2023, where they got matching tattoos.

Status: Married

Becca, former Bachelorette, and Thomas Jacobs, one of Katie Thurston’s suitors, found each other on “Bachelor in Paradise” season seven in 2021. They split up during the show, but rekindled their relationship after production ended. In May 2022, they announced their engagement, with Becca taking the lead in proposing. As she told TopMob News, she hopes others will feel empowered to break traditional rules. In October of the same year, Thomas reciprocated her feelings. In September 2023, they welcomed their first child, a son named Benson. On Instagram, Becca expressed her profound love and admiration for this little boy. Just weeks after welcoming Benson, the couple surprised everyone with a spontaneous wedding on October 13, 2023.

Status: Split

In the season finale of “The Bachelorette” in 2021, Katie got engaged to Blake Moynes. Their affection for each other was initially expressed during an overnight date, which included a paintball adventure, a cowboy bath, and a discussion under the night sky.

Kneeling down, Blake said to Katie, “You’re worthy of the whole universe, and I can’t wait to stand by your side and be there for you each day from now on.

After three months since our television proposal, I find myself sharing some difficult news: my partner and I have decided to part ways. We’ve cherished the precious moments we spent together and the incredible journey this past year has taken us on, but ultimately, we’ve realized that we aren’t meant to be life partners. It was a tough decision, but one that shows genuine care for each other as we move forward separately.

Now, I’m excited to announce my engagement to the talented comedian, Jeff Arcuri. As I embark on this new chapter of my life, I look forward to sharing more joyous moments with him and creating unforgettable memories together.

Current State: Separated
Since Matt and graphic designer Rachael Kirkconnell parted ways during his 2021 season (and later reconciled), they have faced numerous breakup speculations.

“I believe everyone needs a break from social media,” the former Bachelor confided in TopMob News at a July 18 Baskin-Robbins event. “Our lives are so tied to our phones that when anyone takes a break, people think it’s an apocalypse.”

In fact, Matt asserted that marriage is still their ultimate goal.

“I believe the positive aspect of our relationship is we move at our own pace,” the author of First Impressions: Off Screen Conversations With a Bachelor on Race, Family, and Forgiveness shared with TopMob News in May 2022. “And you’ve seen with other couples—they rush into engagement and they’re no longer together. So, I think what we have is a proven formula and we’ll make it work.”

However, less than three years later, Matt revealed that he and Rachael had parted ways again.

“Heavenly Father, grant Rachael and me the strength to heal our broken hearts,” the reality star posted on Instagram Jan. 16, 2025 alongside a nostalgic photo of them from The Bachelor. “Grant us peace about this decision to end our relationship that surpasses human comprehension. Bestow kindness and love upon our friends and family to console us. And remind us that our joy comes from you, Lord.”

Status: Split

Following Clare Crawley’s 2020 season of ‘The Bachelorette’, Tayshia became involved with Zac Clark and developed feelings for him. Despite exiting her season as an engaged couple, Tayshia subsequently disclosed that their relationship faced some highs and lows.

Being in a new relationship and then disappearing for a few weeks can be challenging, right? And I’m being completely open and truthful about this,” she shared on the The Ben and Ashley I. Almost Famous podcast in August 2021.

She went on to say, “It seemed as though we needed to recall the reasons we were together, and I believe that is completely understandable.” However, TopMob News reported in November 2021 that they had parted ways.

Status: Split

During season 16 of ‘The Bachelorette’, Clare became deeply smitten with Dale Moss. Intriguingly enough, they got engaged by the fourth episode itself. However, their fairy tale romance took an unexpected turn when, weeks after Clare was replaced by Tayshia, Dale publicly announced on social media that his relationship with the hairdresser had ended.

Approximately a month later, whispers of reconciliation swirled around them as they were seen together again. Fast forwarding to July 2021, following multiple reunions, Clare and Dale had fully reconciled – complete with an engagement ring. However, their relationship ended once more in September. Now, Clare is blissfully married to Ryan Dawkins, and they’re eagerly awaiting the arrival of their first child together.

Status: Split

Following a short engagement with Hannah Ann Sluss and subsequently breaking up with Madison Prewett, fans had high hopes for Peter’s third attempt at love. Sadly, his connection with Kelley Flanagan from The Bachelor season 24 didn’t last either. On New Year’s Eve in 2020, the pilot announced that their nine-month relationship had ended.

Pete wrote on Instagram that despite our relationship being full of many wonderful moments, it ultimately didn’t succeed. However, Kelley is someone I will forever cherish with a unique affection.

In 2022, I made another attempt at soaring again, but alas, come May of the same year, it became apparent that my romantic journey had found its end point.

Status: Split

After a dramatic 2020 finale, the couple made an announcement on Instagram stating they were ending their relationship. Peter wrote, “Madi and I have decided to mutually part ways in our relationship. This wasn’t an easy decision for either of us, but after many heartfelt discussions, we believe this is the best choice for both of us. The affection and regard I hold for Madi will remain steadfast.

In her declaration, Madi mentioned, “I’ll always hold him dear and maintain high regard for him. I firmly believe that our lives were destined to intersect, and as a result, we’ve both grown for the better.

Status: Split

During The Bachelor’s 24th season, Peter and Hannah Ann had a short engagement. Regrettably, just two parts into the finale, it became clear that the pair were encountering difficulties one month into their exclusive relationship. More specifically, Hannah Ann was taken aback by Peter’s lingering emotions for Madison during this period.

She said, “All along, I’ve merely desired for someone to offer their entire affection as I am doing so. And you ended our first engagement,” she shared while returning the ring. “You took that from me. Since it was trust that you repeatedly asked me to grant you.” Instead, she asked for patience and faith in return.
