Why Armie Hammer Sold Timeshares in Cayman Islands Amid Allegations

As an obsessed fan of Armie Hammer, I’m always intrigued by his unique and unconventional journey through life. His latest revelation about his stint as a timeshare salesman in the Cayman Islands following the controversies he faced was yet another testament to his resilience and determination.

In 2022, news outlets reported that the actor from “Call Me By Your Name,” Armie Hammer, had been working as a salesman for timeshares following a period away from the spotlight due to sexual assault allegations. The Los Angeles Police Department decided not to pursue charges against Hammer after an extensive investigation. Recently, Hammer opened up about his experiences selling vacation properties in the Cayman Islands.

He shared on Bill Maher’s “Club Random” podcast on July 14 that he truly enjoyed the experience. In fact, he expressed a strong desire to become a timeshare salesman because he finds it immensely enjoyable.

After Maher mentioned that Hammer, who has children Harper, 9, and Ford, 7, with ex-wife Elizabeth Chambers, seemed brave for making such a drastic career move despite his controversies, The Social Network actor clarified the statement.

The 37-year-old corrected, “It’s ‘bills,’ not ‘balls.’ I have two children.”

Despite this, Maher pondered over the reason behind Hammer, the grandson of billionaire oil magnate Armand Hammer, not utilizing his familial wealth.

“My father has sadly passed away, leaving him as the last representative of our family lineage. I’ve come to realize that there’s no such thing as a free gift. Every receivable good comes with conditions, especially when it’s given by someone generous because they want to keep control. Instead, I prefer to secure employment and sell timeshares.”

He had applied for other jobs before that one as well. Among his top choices were becoming a drama teacher, a landscaper, and a building manager.

Hammer shared that the Cayman Islands have denied granting him work permits. He pondered over the possibility of giving up and relying on loans from family or similar solutions. However, he acknowledged that such an approach wasn’t in line with his character or desires. It had never been his intention to adopt this kind of attitude.

Hammer, who has refuted all accusations of sexual misconduct, stressed that he’s consistently gone against the norm.

At the age of 19, he chose a different route from his family’s tradition. Instead of graduating from high school or attending college to get a degree or an MBA, he pursued acting. By not adhering to these conventional paths, he avoided being tied down by a fixed career and financial dependency.
