As I gaze upon these vibrant faces, each one telling a unique story of triumph and resilience, I can’t help but feel a profound sense of admiration and awe. These are not just mere images before my eyes, they are beacons of hope, shining brightly in the vast expanse of the entertainment industry.
There’s no punch line to this one.
Indeed, Matt Rife really is looking to buy the house in which the true events that inspired The Conjuring horror series transpired.
The comedian expressed to TopMob News host Keltie Knight during the 2024 People’s Choice Country Awards that they are seriously considering an investment. They shared their enthusiasm for the opportunity, stating, “I really want to, I’m giving it my all.” Previously, they had visited the same place and found it amazing. It happens to be their preferred horror movie franchise. They believe they could create something truly outstanding with it. (For a glimpse of all the celebrities at the 2024 PCCAs, click here.)
Instead of joking about scheduling 4,000 shows per year to finance a property, Matt quickly responded to the query regarding what draws a comedian to a well-known fixture in the horror genre.
The 29-year-old observed that comedy and horror are quite similar, separated by just one step. They both thrive on suspense and surprise, don’t they? And let me tell you, Jordan Peele has truly revolutionized the horror genre with his work.
He continued, “Also I love a true story and The Conjuring movies are all based off of true stories if you believe in that kind of stuff, which I do.”
Meanwhile, among the lively discussions about films, Matt suggested that he may see a bright spotlight on the cinema screen in the near future.
He playfully hinted, “A massive event in 2025 awaits us! I’m collaborating with Live Nation for a film inspired by Rolling Loud, the music festival. Following that, there are several exciting, significant projects lined up.
In the interim, Matt eagerly anticipates concluding his tour and moving a step nearer to buying the haunted house, after which he plans to unwind for the remainder of the year.
He shared that he’s currently smack dab in the midst of our European tour, and he’ll be overseas for the upcoming two months. He’s eagerly anticipating meeting his fans who have had their tickets for approximately 16 months since they went on sale. Consequently, he can hardly wait to visit countries he’s never been to before and catch a bit of rest along the way.
He added, “For the last year and a half, we’ve been touring with around 40 to 50 shows per month. Now, I’m excited for the chance to rest, relax, and savor everything.
