As someone who grew up watching the Disney Channel in the 2010s, I can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia when I think about Mia Talerico and her role as Charlie on Good Luck Charlie. It’s fascinating to see how much she has grown since then, from a toddler playing a character to a 16-year-old young woman navigating life outside the spotlight.
The Good Luck Charlie cast loves who Mia Talerico turned out to be.
In the 2010s, I was just a toddler who graced the Disney Channel alongside Jason Dolley, Bridgit Mendler, and Bradley Steven Perry on a series. Fast forward a few years, it felt like I was making new acquaintances all over again when we reunited, as if meeting my former co-stars for the very first time, according to Jason’s recent account. At 16 now, I can hardly believe how quickly those years have flown by!
In a special interview with Francesca Amiker of TopMob News during the Wizards Beyond Waverly Place premiere on October 28th, he shared that he recognized her at Bridgit’s engagement party. It was peculiar because everyone there knew her, yet she seemed familiar with us as if she should recognize us but actually didn’t know who we were.
In simpler terms, he said, “It seemed as if she was still developing her mind while we were moving her around the set.” (For additional insights from Jason and others on the red carpet of Wizards Beyond Waverly Place, catch TopMob News tonight, Oct. 29, at 11 p.m.)
33-year-old him found it pleasant to run into his old castmate at Bridgit’s engagement party with Griffin Cleverly in 2019. However, he stressed the mental shift he had to undergo.
He also mentioned, “It’s merely a drastic change of viewpoint.” Essentially, this individual has lived and developed their own unique perspective. While it was commendable, it can be quite unsettling.
But even if it’s shocking to see her all grown up, Jason admitted that he is proud of Mia’s segue out of the spotlight.
The former star from “Cory in the House” expressed, “It’s wonderful,” continuing on to say, “I can empathize with her, having experienced growing up under the public eye. Still, it appears she’s pursuing activities that bring her joy, which is truly all one can hope for in life. So if she’s following her passion, then who cares?
Previously this year, Mia gave an unusual update to “Good Luck Charlie” enthusiasts, disclosing that she had begun her second year at high school. The teenager humorously remarked in the post, “Here comes the flurry of comments about feeling old.
Currently, Jason shows great interest in continuing within the entertainment industry. Notably, the reboot of “Wizards of Waverly Place” will air on October 29, and he is hoping to experience a similar success with his very own TV show.
He expressed his belief that there are many intriguing stories to be explored if a revival of “Good Luck Charlie” were to happen, sharing some thoughts on where the character could develop. He suggested that PJ’s journey might prove particularly fascinating, given his possible future as a chef and potentially transforming into a figure like Gordon Ramsay.
Of course, Jason noted he’s not the only one to make the call, adding, “I’m putting it out there, so we’ll see what happens.”
