Why James Bond is not afraid of Donald Trump…..

Trump has extended his tariff policy globally, now focusing on foreign films produced outside the United States. It’s unclear how this will be implemented, as even Trump seems uncertain about the implications. The allure of tax incentives offered by countries like those where many American blockbusters, such as Marvel films, Wicked, Jurassic World, Mission Impossible, and others, are filmed, makes these locations irresistible to producers. This is particularly true for UK studios that benefit significantly from this trend. It seems James Bond might not be intimidated by Trump’s tariff threats due to the financial advantages offered by non-US countries.

At a press conference, Trump was asked by The London Times about the tariff plan where he said:

As a cinephile, I’m advocating for tariffs on our films and film production, aiming to encourage more moviemakers to produce their work within our borders once again. You see, although we provide the talent, capital, and resources, many of our creators have chosen to set up shop abroad. This situation needs to change, so we’re exploring tariffs as a potential solution to bring them back home, ideally on a significant scale.

However, James Bond has no need for concern, let me assure you. And just so you know, Sean Connery was more than an acquaintance; he was a friend of mine. It was thanks to Sean Connery that I managed to secure zoning in Aberdeen. He essentially said, ‘Go ahead and construct those golf courses.’ At the time, it seemed nearly impossible in Aberdeen… Sean Connery was truly a remarkable individual.
