Life as Katherine Heigl knew it changed when she moved to Utah, but she wouldn’t change a thing.
The former star of “Grey’s Anatomy”, who relocated some time back seeking a quieter lifestyle for her loved ones, openly expressed her satisfaction with the decision to depart from Hollywood.
In a special interview with Francesca Amiker of TopMob News, she shared that she has created and maintained tranquility not only for herself but also for her family. This state brings her immense happiness, satisfaction, understanding, and stability. And to put it simply, she feels there’s no need to disturb this blissful situation.
At the age of 46, Heigl acknowledges moments of self-doubt about her decisions or the perception of them by others. However, she has chosen to concentrate on what suits her and her family’s wellbeing best.
She shared, “At times, I ponder if I ought to participate in the game, strive harder, aim higher. But then, I realize, I simply don’t want to.” In essence, she suggests that if one doesn’t wish for it, they shouldn’t force themselves into it, even if societal norms or expectations might push for it.
Leaving Los Angeles has also strengthened her marriage with husband Josh Kelley.
In our unique universe we’ve crafted here in Utah, he’s transformed into an integral part of me – someone I can truly rely upon and trust without hesitation. From the very start, he’s been like a tranquil haven, offering unwavering support that I could depend on.
She expressed appreciation for her extended time in Hollywood, but stressed that she wouldn’t change it for anything, particularly considering the well-being of her children – Naleigh (age 15), Adalaide (age 13), and Joshua (age 8).
She expressed her profound joy and satisfaction, adding that she’s incredibly thankful for her years in the industry. During those busy times, her children were still young, and she can’t help but feel remorse for the moments she missed with them while she was working hard. Still, she’s grateful to be here today.
Heigl emphasized that although she might have missed some moments with her kids during their early years, it’s crucial for her to be present for them as they navigate this stage in their lives now.
She expressed, “The early years are the sweetest and most thrilling phase as a parent, but it’s during their teenage years that they require you the most. Right now, I find myself in this stage. It’s hard for me to imagine stepping away for three months to shoot a movie or nine months for a TV series.
Actress from “27 Dresses” explained, “Filming doesn’t happen in Utah, which means I have to travel for work, and honestly, it’s something I can’t imagine managing well right now. I fear I would be too distracted, torn between my duties on set and concerns for my children at home.
According to Heigl, juggling everything leaves her feeling as if her mind might burst. For the moment, she’s enjoying these years while her children are still young and at home.
Though it seems endless at the moment, time is flying by. As I glance around my house, overwhelmed by clutter, I remind myself that one day, all of this will vanish. No more children’s toys, no more hair ties or scrunchies, hoodies, backpacks, skincare items, and so on. My home will be immaculate, like something from ‘Good Housekeeping,’ and I’ll miss it dearly.
Besides spending time with her loved ones, the actress from Firefly Lane has additionally been dedicated to her animal advocacy initiatives. One such endeavor is the creation of a pet food brand named Badlands Ranch, which aims at producing healthier options for our canine friends.
For over two decades now, I’ve dedicated my life to championing the welfare of our beloved animal companions, and it’s been an honor to lead an advocacy foundation in this mission. So, when you meet me, understand that animals are not just a part of my life – they are my passion!
When presented with the opportunity to craft something truly distinctive for our pets, I leaped at the chance. This isn’t just another product; it’s a creation that pet owners can genuinely rely on to make a positive difference in their furry friends’ lives.
In the year 2008, she, along with her mother, established the Jason Heigl Foundation as a tribute to her brother. The purpose of this foundation is to put an end to animal mistreatment and suffering. Notably, Badlands Ranch has pledged $250,000 annually to support the foundation’s mission.
She stated, “It’s been absolutely amazing, and this has likely been the greatest benefit we’ve experienced from the food. It has allowed us to continue numerous programs, enhance and expand their impact, and broaden our reach, which has long been our aspiration.
