Kyra Sedgwick and Kevin Bacon know how to cut loose together.
They were eagerly waiting for the chance to collaborate again, so when the offer for the movie “The Best You Can” came along, they didn’t hesitate and seized it right away.
In an exclusive interview during the movie premiere on June 7, Kyra shared with TopMob News her insight: ‘As an actor, I never assume my partner will excel, but when it comes to working with him, I know it’s going to be stimulating and enjoyable. We always manage to keep things fresh and have a blast together.’
Following 36 years of marriage, it’s simple to carry over that backstage friendship when the camera is rolling.
In essence, Kevin pointed out that when referring to a scene partner, it’s because during that specific scene, there needs to be some kind of collaboration, even if the characters involved in the scene dislike each other.
The star from Footloose explained, “We’ve been companions for quite some time now. So, we essentially translate our real-life bond into our on-screen collaborations.
What makes this relationship unique is what everyone seems to be curious about these days. However, the couple often joke that there’s no secret recipe for keeping a marriage strong – especially not the ones doled out by celebrities. (Kyra chuckles as she says this.)
They not only enjoy it but are always up for a dance together, as depicted in “The Best You Can“; however, they do have a message for the audience.
Kevin emphasized, ‘It’s important to understand, we’re portraying characters who are dancing. There’s a distinction.’
Kyra also said, “They might or might not be excellent dancers, so avoid jumping to conclusions like ‘It’s all over now. They’ve lost their skills.’ We once thought they were great dancers, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they aren’t anymore.
“Exactly,” Kevin said with a laugh. “We don’t want to hear how we’ve lost it.”
After making its premiere at the Tribeca Festival and Kevin’s show “Sirens” climbing to the top spot on Netflix, the pair hasn’t skipped a beat in their success trajectory.
Regarding the potential continuation of the show “Sirens”, Kevin hinted with a hopeful tone, “That would be wonderful. However, I’m not certain about what becomes of our character Peter in the future…
But no matter what happens with the series, he always has a supporter in Kyra.
Indeed, it’s wonderful,” said the former student of Closer. “I genuinely enjoy seeing him on screen. He always manages to be unique and captivating in every character he plays.

2014 saw Hollywood stars sharing their excitement online about joining the #PeoplesClimateMarch alongside Kyrasthan Sedgwick, who was represented by the NRDC (Natural Resources Defense Council).
Come December 2023, it was Kyra and Kevin who caught the thrilling matchup between the Los Angeles Lakers and the New York Knicks at Crypto.com Arena.
In June 2024, Kyra joined forces with her two grown-up children, Travis and Sosie, to back Kevin at the Maxxxine premiere.
