Why Love Is Blind Season 9 May Be Its Most Shocking Yet

All eyes are on Love is Blind season nine.

As stated by host Vanessa Lachey, there’s a solid justification for her claim: She’s confident that the upcoming episode of the Netflix series, which takes place in Denver and is scheduled for release this fall, will prove to be one of the most surprising installments to date.

She playfully hinted to TopMob News during the Tudum event on May 31, “I believe I could reveal something. An unprecedented incident occurred in Denver that’s unlike anything seen on ‘Love is Blind.’

However, the woman aged 44 remained fairly secretive about the specific details, but she did offer a glimpse of what viewers might anticipate from the team participating in Colorado (which will be broadcast on TopMob News at 11 p.m. tonight, June 2).

Vanessa playfully noted, ‘The unique aspect of Love is Blind changing locations every season is that each city brings its own flavor, its own character, and the traits it embodies.’ She hinted, ‘In some places, faith takes center stage. In others, work does. In yet others, social life revolves around drinking – it’s all quite diverse.’ So, she left everyone wondering, ‘What can we expect from Denver? I’ll leave that for you to script.’

The star of “NCIS: Hawai’i” also discussed the changes in casting that have occurred throughout the years since the series debut, along with her preferred types of actors on the program.

She stated, “They are simply individuals seeking affection. Over the course of the series, spanning nine seasons, viewers have come to anticipate certain things. Occasionally, someone manages to evade these expectations and doesn’t have pure intentions.

She remarked, “I prefer people who are naturally skeptical from the start. They’re the ones who cry during the first date, they’re the ones who find love quickly at social events, and they’re the ones whose marriages endure for a long time, as you well know.

Moreover, Vanessa has extensive knowledge on the subject, given that she’s been married to Nick Lachey, co-host of Love is Blind, for over a decade and a half.

Vanessa shared with TopMob News in February, “It involves being receptive and open-minded towards my partner, and he has shown me many valuable lessons. I also believe that I’ve imparted some knowledge to him. However, we can both learn and grow together as we continue our shared journey of strengthening our relationship.

However, I feel there are larger aspects of life and personal growth to consider. Truthfully, I don’t think I am prepared yet. And let me be forthright, I’m not entirely ready at this moment either.

Despite having distinct differences regarding their religious beliefs and political views earlier, Ben and Sara appeared to agree on crucial aspects of their joint life by the time of their wedding. However, in the end, they chose to part ways and conclude their shared journey together.

As Sara, who expressed her doubts about a future with Ben, clarified, “Ben, my affection for you is profound, yet I’ve always yearned for a connection on the same level. Unfortunately, that’s not the case at present. I apologize if this isn’t clear, but I don’t see a future with you.

During a recent episode of The Viall Files podcast in October, she expressed that she’s gained a lot of insights and identified areas for improvement. For instance, she acknowledged her straightforward nature, but admitted that her communication style could use some refinement, particularly in terms of delivery, as she now realizes that the way one delivers a message can make all the difference.

In a fortuitous union reminiscent of stars aligning in the realm of scientific discovery, Taylor and Garrett found an instant connection and appeared fated to declare their love. Later on, Ashley revealed that they had ended their marriage after more than a year.

In a statement released in January 2025, she disclosed that she and Tyler have been apart for several weeks and have chosen to terminate their marriage following careful consideration. Despite my hopes for shared comprehension and openness in our relationship, I’ve come to realize that our goals are no longer congruent, which unfortunately makes it untenable for me to carry on with this marriage.

By the time they returned to Washington, D.C. from Mexico, it appeared as though Alex and Tim had resolved their significant disagreement and were even closer than before. In truth, Tim held a heartfelt conversation with Alex’s father which seemed to solidify their friendship moving forward.

After Alex had a meeting with Tim’s family, they found themselves in another disagreement. This time, it led to Tim ending their engagement by expressing that he didn’t want any further contact with Alex. Since then, both parties have spoken up to justify their actions following the breakup, with Alex clarifying that the separation was not a joint decision on their part.

Following a handful of spats throughout the season, Chelsea and Jimmy seemed to resolve their differences prior to their wedding, as they spent a fun-filled day together at an amusement park.

Jimmy unequivocally expressed his readiness to conclude their roller coaster relationship, ending his engagement with tearful Chelsea, who was taken aback by his choice.

On their date, Jimmy confessed his deep feelings for Chelsea, expressing that he yearns for a relationship with her and hopes it will succeed. However, he made it clear that he doesn’t wish to walk down the aisle, as he cannot.

He clarified that they’ve boiled it down to a single point of contention, though it encompasses five or six major problems that have deeply affected him emotionally. (One of these issues is that Chelsea disclosed Jimmy’s past relationship with his close female friend.)

Following another round of discussions regarding past relationships, Chelsea departed emotionally, saying, “I had such high hopes for us.

The pair were both single during the March 2024 reunion.

As Clay voiced his reservations about marriage stemming from his perspective on his father’s unfaithfulness, AD offered comfort, suggesting that their relationship would thrive and everything appeared to be going smoothly for them.

However, when the moment came for him to declare “I do” for a lifetime at the altar, Clay chose not to, explaining to AD that it would not be prudent for him to marry since he was not yet prepared.

Regarding Clay, he openly stated that both financial and emotional factors significantly contributed to his decision to leave. He candidly confessed, “I had to ask myself if I was a husband, and the response was negative. When I questioned if I was deeply in love, the answer was also no.

At the reunion, Clay openly admitted his past error and showed interest in dating AD again. However, AD seemed hesitant about the possibility of reconciling.

As a seasoned lifestyle connoisseur, I must admit that I did partake in a few outings with my costar, Matthew Duliba, once the cameras stopped rolling. However, it’s important to clarify that we have not formed a romantic bond.

As a dedicated follower, I’m excited to share that it was Amy and Johnny who said “yes” to an eternal bond in season six. Their beautiful ceremony wasn’t just the start of their journey together, but also marked the harmonious blending of our families. In a heartwarming moment, Amy’s father expressed his joy by telling Johnny’s sister that he now feels like he has more than one daughter.

As for Johnny, he too declared at his reception that his father-in-law was his “new dad.”

They were still married during the reunion episode.

Initially, Brittany and Kenneth’s love flourished, but it lost momentum when they got back to everyday life.

According to Brittany, things changed significantly upon their return to Charlotte. She believes that the intensity and passion they displayed while living together in the pods started to diminish when they returned home.

Despite no longer being in a romantic relationship, their friendship endures, as Brittany expressed during the reunion: “The special connection between us will persist for all time.

In the heat of fandom, I found myself utterly enthralled, almost to an obsessive degree. The story unfolded when I learned my idols, Laura and her beloved, Jeramey, were on the brink of tying the knot. However, a shocking twist emerged: Jeramey had rekindled connections with one of his pod mates, none other than Sarah Ann Bick, during an evening out.

The revelation sparked a tense confrontation between Laura and Jeramey that left me breathless. In the aftermath, Laura, in a moment of raw emotion, urged Jeramey to hit the road – essentially telling him to pack up and leave.

But instead of that, he went off to ride jet skis with Sarah Ann.

Laura is dating someone else, who she did not identify at the reunion.

During season five, the couple faced numerous challenges, such as Izzy’s past bond with Johnie Maraist and Stacy’s preference for a certain standard of lifestyle and dinnerware (no plastic plates!). However, it was Izzy’s deception about his financial history that Stacy pointed out as the primary factor behind her decision to forego marriage.

Even though Stacy didn’t say “I do” at the altar, she still wished to keep their relationship going, leaving Izzy heartbroken.

“We’re at different spots,” he told her. “It really breaks my heart.”

Regarding Stacy, she appreciated Izzy’s efforts in helping her open up emotionally, yet she wasn’t completely confident about their long-term prospects. She stated that being “fairly certain” wasn’t sufficient for her to commit to a lifelong decision.

Izzy is now dating surgical assistant Shelby Webb.

Season five’s sole success story came from arguably its most unlikely pairing. 

Initially facing difficulties following the disclosure that Lydia was already involved with Milton’s colleague, Uche Okoroha, before the program started, it was just them who managed to maintain their relationship after the experiment concluded, both being enthusiasts of geology.

Lydia expressed her joy, saying, “Marrying is like my long-held dream realized! I couldn’t be happier. With this union, I have everything I need and it feels just like being at home—warm, secure, and comforting.

As an analytically-minded engineer, Milton concluded, “After examining all the facts, I believe this is the correct choice.

Throughout their relationship, it appeared that opposites were drawn to each other right up until their wedding day. However, at the alter, Paul showed signs of uncertainty, leading Micah to ask for his decision first. Unfortunately for them both, Paul decided to decline the proposal of marriage.

Micah expressed that he feels as though he’s in a state of chaos, much like a disaster, he stated.

If Paul had wished to marry him, Micah confirmed that he would have wholeheartedly agreed and said “I do” without any hesitation.

At the gathering, Paul expressed remorse for his remark made during a private conversation, where he mentioned finding it hard to visualize Micah as a mother.

In Paul’s own words, he acknowledged, “I believe I wasn’t fair in my previous statement. A more accurate expression of my feelings might be that I struggle to envision us in a parental role together.

After wrapping up their movie, the pair tried to mend their differences, but unfortunately, their romantic connection didn’t last. Paul clarified that their split was permanent when he went to see Micah in Arizona.

In the novel “After the Altar“, Paul disclosed that he had started seeing a new lady, who appreciated traveling and his culinary abilities. Later on, they made their relationship public on Instagram with Paul’s partner being eyelash beautician Geneva Dunham.

Even though Kwame’s mother declined to attend the wedding and some found his discussions with Micah questionable, given their interactions within the pods, Kwame and Chelsea still managed to become one of the three pairs who exchanged vows by the conclusion of season four.

At the gathering, Chelsea disclosed that she had recently met her husband’s mother, while Kwame tendered an apology to his wife and her relatives for his actions, stating that his conversations with Micah didn’t accurately reflect him.

The couple is living in Seattle with their beloved dog Rocky.

It’s often said that love can be blind, but sometimes it takes a moment or even proposing to another person to understand you’ve made a mistake. That was Zack’s case when he initially got engaged to Irina Solomonova, but the relationship ended during their vacation in Mexico.

Following Bliss’ request for another opportunity, the couple bravely overcame the odds (even going against Bliss’ father’s wishes) and exchanged vows at the altar. Incidentally, they didn’t just watch as everyone else danced, instead choosing to dance themselves, to Lee Ann Womack’s “I Hope You Dance,” a song that had been their shared bond during their time in the pods.

Following the airing of the final episode, Zack posted a picture of the couple on Instagram with the caption “Enduring Happiness.

In November of 2023, the pair announced they were expecting their first child. Later, in April of 2024, they happily welcomed their baby girl, Galileo Terri Rayne Goytowski, into their family.

Man, ever since the days of Cameron Hamilton and Lauren Speed in season one, I haven’t felt this strong a connection between a Love Is Blind pairing!

In the study, the oldest pair, Tiffany (age 36) and Brett (age 37), exchanged their vows despite an unexpected wardrobe issue with Brett’s pants not fitting correctly on their wedding day. Kudos to seamstress Lucia for swiftly resolving the situation!

Since filming wrapped, Tiffany and Brett moved to Portland and are still perfect! Phew!

After SK said “I don’t” at their wedding, he and Raven seemingly parted ways.

Nevertheless, once the recording ended, the ex-lovers found themselves back together, as it turned out they had resumed their relationship during the reunion show for season three.

Approximately a month ago, the pair revealed their decision to part ways, citing ongoing legal issues concerning infidelity accusations against SK. In a joint post on social media in November, SK and Raven stated, “Given the ongoing court cases regarding these allegations, we are unable to disclose further information at this time. We kindly request your understanding and privacy during this difficult period. Thank you for accompanying us on our love journey and supporting us.

Spectators expressed distress as Jackie opted to provide another opportunity to Josh Demas, the individual she bonded with in the pods, instead of continuing her relationship with Marshall, eventually meeting up with Josh prior to terminating their engagement.

Nevertheless, during the gathering, Jackie clarified the sequence of incidents regarding the timeline. “I parted ways with Marshall prior to meeting Josh at the coffee shop,” she asserted. “The circumstances make it appear as if I’m unfaithful. Let me assure you, I am not a cheater.

Later on, Jackie admitted to the breakdown of her relationship with Marshall, stating that she is ready to accept responsibility for her choices of speech and behavior. Essentially, they were not destined to work out together.

Regarding Jackie’s relationship with Josh, they were together and cohabiting at the time of “After the Altar.” However, Jackie revealed during an Instagram Live session in September 2023 that their romantic journey had come to an end.

Regarding Marshall, he shared with TopMob that following the show, he interacted briefly with another contestant named Kacia Clark. He further elaborated, saying, “We made an effort, but I preferred to keep some space between us after that whole experience.

Following the altar’s unveiling, Marshall disclosed that he has been in a relationship with Dr. Chay Barnes for a year now. His heartfelt desire is to spend an eternity with her. Their engagement took place in December 2023.

Nancy and Bartise experienced one of Love Is Blind’s most intense weddings, yet it wasn’t due to either the bride or groom causing a stir.

In the final episode of the third season, it turned out that while Nancy was eager to get married, Bartise expressed doubts about their relationship. This news didn’t go down too well with Nancy’s family, who made their disapproval clear and unreservedly spoke up against Bartise.

Regardless of their ups and downs, Bartise and Nancy continue to experience periods where they are friends and others where they are more like casual acquaintances. In his conversation with TopMob, Bartise explained, “We’ve moved from being close friends, to barely knowing each other, back to no communication at all, only to revert again to being friends.

In April 2023, Bartisse, a contestant from the show “Perfect Match,” revealed the birth of his son named Hayden. However, he has not disclosed the mother’s identity in public.

Several months later, he debuted his new romance with Cait Vanderberry on Instagram.

Nancy is currently in a new romance, though she hasn’t disclosed the identity of her partner in public yet.

 

In the final episode of the season, audiences witnessed Alexa and Brennon exchange vows amidst their cherished family and friends.

In heartfelt promises, Alexa expressed, “You bring laughter, stimulate thought, and above all, you bring me joy.

In January 2024, the couple joyfully shared the news of their forthcoming child, and by July 2024, they were overjoyed to introduce their newborn daughter named Vienna Ziva Lemieux into their world.

Well, we can’t say we’re surprised by this breakup.

During their relationship, it often felt like Zanab and Cole were at odds, leading to numerous disagreements. Despite reaching the wedding altar, Zanab expressed her feelings by saying, “You’ve shown disregard for me, you’ve insulted me, you’ve criticized me, and in doing so, you’ve severely damaged my self-esteem.

Cole later reflected on their tumultuous relationship.

He shared with TopMob News that despite encountering rough patches, they were making progress and navigating towards calmer seas. He expressed his hope that they could carry on their journey, even if they didn’t get married on that particular day.

Colleen and Matt successfully exchanged vows in the season three finale.

Regardless of the ups and downs experienced throughout their romance, they were assured about their bond and joyfully exchanged their vows.

In 2022, TopMob News reported that Colleen said she decided to proceed with the wedding because, “As soon as I witnessed his tears and snorts, I thought, ‘This is my partner.’ So I knew right then and there that I would say yes when I saw him.

Nearly four years following their nuptials, the couple chose to end their marriage. In a heartfelt message posted on Instagram in May 2025, they stated that this was not a decision taken lightly but one that required careful consideration. They mentioned that it had been an emotional journey for both of them.

During the season finale, Sal wasn’t able to say, “I do.”
