Scooter Braun is getting real about his divorce.
The former talent manager, who parted ways with Yael Cohen Braun (mother of their children Jagger, 9, Levi, 7, and Hart, 5), explained that the breakdown in their marriage was due to contributions from both parties.
Scooter expressed on the June 9 episode of The Diary of a CEO, “I prefer not to delve deeply into specifics due to my deep respect for the other party. Our bond is eternal; it’s reciprocal. It’s not that one person caused an issue. Both individuals have a part in how things unfolded. Events took place on both sides.
He went on to say something particularly insightful: “Chris Rock notes that relationships are surprisingly simple,” he added. “He explains, ‘Imagine trying to lift a couch alone? It’s impossible. But with two people, no problem.’ And that was exactly our situation; we each attempted to move the couch separately at different times.
The 43-year-old went on to share his belief that Yael was brought into his life for a reason.
Scooter admitted, “I too was unaware of my identity.” He continued, “Back then, I derived happiness from others praising me and saying I was succeeding, which I thought was all I needed. Now, in retrospect, it seems as if I had been half-asleep, oblivious to who I truly was. With such an early success, everyone around me constantly reinforced that I was doing well, so I simply chose to accept their words.
In hindsight, it wasn’t until the base beneath me crumbled and there was nothing left to support it, that I realized, ‘Oh dear! I’ve not been truly content.’ Reflecting on the past, I can confidently say I wouldn’t trade those tough times for anything a million years ago. Now, I find myself in a place where I am fully aware and appreciative of my existence, making every effort to remain here.
In Scooter’s own words, he admitted, “I too was unaware of my true identity.” He continued, “At that point in time, I seemed content because the world constantly praised me for my accomplishments. Now, reflecting on it, I feel as if I was merely going through the motions without truly understanding who I was. It’s almost like I was asleep, not fully aware of myself or my actions. However, with such early success, everyone around me assured me that I was doing well, so I chose to trust their words.
He only realized how unhappy he truly was when the foundation collapsed and there was nothing left beneath it. At that moment, he exclaimed, “Oh my goodness! I’m not content at all!” He would never return to those times filled with difficulties for even a million years. Instead, he wants to remain here because now he is conscious and aware.
In a conversation with host Steven Bartlett, Justin Bieber’s ex-manager shared some insights about marriage, drawing from an area where he and his former partner Yael missed out during their relationship.
Scooter mentioned, “We plan a shared vacation.” It’s something we overlooked; we took vacations with our children, we took vacations with friends, but we never took one solely for us, because we had three kids in five years, and I often reflect on that fact.
He also emphasized, “Simply have faith that if something is meant to happen, it will. My path unfolded precisely as it should have. Even when I discovered certain truths about us, it happened at the exact moment we were intended to uncover them.
Moving forward, I am fully committed to ensuring that the next person I connect with will benefit from an enhanced and refined version of myself.
He remarked, “The next person to encounter me is in luck, as I’ve improved significantly since my previous state.
