As a lifestyle expert with years of experience under my belt, I can empathize with Sharna Burgess‘ feelings about her “Dancing With the Stars” legacy. Her Mirrorball Trophy win, especially in light of recent commentary, seems to have left a sour taste in her mouth.
Sharna Burgess isn’t completely satisfied with her impact on “Dancing With the Stars,” particularly considering the latest discussions about her sole victory of the Mirrorball Trophy.
39-year-old individual expressed a response towards fellow dancer and presently shared host of DWTS, Julianne Hough, regarding her opinion that Bobby Bones, Sharna’s dance partner from season 27, should not have won the title.
On the Between Us Moms podcast, Sharna voiced her disappointment that despite the remarkable seasons she had, she’s primarily remembered for the controversial win that many disliked. Recently, even Julianne commented that among all 33 seasons, Bobby Bones’ victory should not have occurred. It’s frustrating, and it stings a bit because I hoped to leave a positive and beautiful legacy on Dancing With the Stars after my tenure. However, I can accept it.
Indeed, Hough found himself in agreement with fellow “WWHL” guest Mickey Guyton during their August 18th episode. She openly expressed her disapproval regarding the “DWTS” winner that Bobby was declared to be.
Julianne said to Mickey, ‘I completely concur with your opinion,’ she explained, ‘and I believe it’s due to the devoted fanbase. The success of that show largely depends on its fanbase. He might not have been the most skilled dancer.’
TopMob News has reached out to a rep for Julianne for comment and has not heard back.
Sharna, who co-parents her two-year-old son Zane with partner Brian Austin Green, was not invited to return as a professional dancer in the upcoming season 33 of the popular dance competition series. This decision has visibly left her disappointed and upset, as she has openly expressed on various platforms.
She thinks the choice was influenced significantly by her vocal critique towards the selection of NFL player Adrian Peterson in season 32, even though he had previously been suspended from the NFL due to allegations of child abuse.
Sharna expressed her views as a parent regarding a specific contestant in the show who faced accusations of child abuse at the time when his child was 3 years old. She mentioned that she had been a mother for a year by then.
The Australian choreographer added that she feels there’s a double standard on the show.
This season, Maks openly expressed his feelings about Anna, criticizing both her and the show for allowing her participation due to her being a professional con artist. Sharna commented on this, stating that despite Anna’s elimination, Maks remains on set and maintains good relationships with everyone on “Dancing With the Stars.
However, despite the tension, Sharna is open to returning to the hit show one day.
She mentioned that if asked, she would likely want another season to spend time with everyone and bring closure to her 14-year journey on the show. She feels that the ending didn’t have the grace or sentimentality it deserved, given all the love and memories shared over the years.
