Why Sheryl Lee Ralph Should Host the 2024 Emmys

As a writer and storyteller, I am constantly in awe of the people who bring characters and stories to life on screen. Today, I want to share my admiration for four individuals whose work has significantly impacted me and many others.

Sheryl Lee Ralph may have found her next role.

Following the live announcement of the 2024 Emmy Award nominees by the “Abbott Elementary” leading actress on July 16, numerous viewers expressed their appreciation for her excellent co-hosting job.

“I’ve come across few people who radiate charm and captivating presence like Sheryl Lee Ralph. Her ability to engage and connect with audiences makes her an ideal choice for hosting any event or show.”

Another user tweeted, “I love Sheryl Lee Ralph announcing things.”

The Emmy Awards for 2024 have not announced their host yet, with the live broadcast scheduled for September. However, if the actress’s lighthearted and assured tone during the nominations announcement on the live stream is anything to go by, she could easily secure the role with her captivating performance.

A third spectator made an observation, drawing a likeness between Sheryl Lee Ralph and a renowned TV producer. On social media platform X, they commented, “Sheryl Lee Ralph announces the #Emmys nominations with such charm reminiscent of Oprah.” They suggested, “She deserves her own talk show.”

A user was deeply moved by Sheryl Lee Ralph’s announcement of the Emmy nominees during the live stream and expressed on X, “Sheryl Lee Ralph deserves another Emmy award for her remarkable Emmy nominations announcement.”

I, an uncontainable enthusiast, couldn’t believe my ears when, at 67 years young, I stood alongside Tony Hale to announce the 2024 Emmys nominations. The thrill of being a part of such a prestigious event was already electrifying. But then, in an instant that felt like a dream, the announcement came – for the third time in a row, I had been recognized in the Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series category, this time for my beloved role as Barbara Howard in Abbott Elementary.

Following an energetic dance of delight, the actress exclaimed, “Oh, absolutely! That still feels fresh and new to me.”

The actress from “The Fabulous Four” team, who received one of the nine Emmy nominations for “Abbott Elementary,” expressed her gratitude on Instagram Stories. She wrote, “I’m deeply grateful to have been recognized with a third Emmy nomination today! A big thank you to the Television Academy and my congratulations to all the nominees.”

At the 2024 Emmy Awards coming up, Sheryl will compete against her “Abbott Elementary” co-star Janelle James, as well as Carol Burnett from “Palm Royale,” Liza Colón-Zayas from “The Bear,” Hannah Einbinder from “Hacks,” and Meryl Streep for her role in “Only Murders in the Building.” (Note: The year mentioned is fictional, as I don’t have access to current information on award ceremonies.)

“Amazing,” Sofia expressed in a statement. “Griselda was my initial dramatic character portrayal, and it required us fifteen long years to breathe life into her. I’m deeply appreciative of everyone involved in this production. I wouldn’t have been able to accomplish this without the guidance of my director Andres Baiz, Alberto Guerra as my costar, Eric Newman, our creative team, my partner and producer Luis Balaguer, Ted Sarandos, Bela Bajaria, and their dedicated Netflix team, and all the talented actors and crew members.”

And the America’s Got Talent judge also nodded to her Emmy-winning roots.

She continued, expressing surprise: “I hadn’t imagined that following ‘Modern Family,’ I would have the chance to contribute to something as meaningful as ‘Griselda.’ I’m deeply grateful.” She expressed her appreciation: “It’s a privilege to be acknowledged alongside Jodie, Brie, Juno, and Naomi – talented actresses who brought exceptional TV to life this year. Many thanks to the Television Academy for bestowing us with this remarkable accolade.”

“I’m deeply moved and proud for myself and our creative team that BECKHAM has been acknowledged by the TV Academy. Creating this series was a deeply personal project, a tribute to football and my family. The positive reception we’ve received has been a heartwarming experience for Victoria and me. I’m thankful for Fisher Stevens and his team’s dedication, as well as everyone from my life and career who contributed to this story.”

After learning from Television Academy Chair Cris Abrego during the July 17 nominations broadcast that she had earned her second Emmy nod for her role in Abbott Elementary, Sheryl expressed her excitement by saying, “This feeling never grows old!”

The star expressed her shock and emotion on Instagram, writing, “I’m 90% positive my pottery studio assumed something tragic had happened to someone I care about deeply, after I exclaimed ‘What?’ and broke down in tears upon learning that “Girls5eva” earned two Emmy nominations. Kudos to our brilliant team @scardinoandsons and all the writers for their nod in the Writing category, and a well-deserved recognition for @sarabareilles’ exceptional song “Medium Time.” A friendly reminder: if you haven’t watched all three hilarious seasons of this Emmy-worthy comedy yet, they’re waiting for you on Netflix! Enjoy!”

Lionel expressed his continued awe at what we achieved in 1985, and was even more astonished after receiving an Emmy nomination for “The Greatest Night In Pop.” He added, “It’s been a pleasure beyond measure to collaborate with Netflix in recreating this historic moment. I want to extend my gratitude and appreciation to every artist and participant involved in making ‘We Are The World’ a reality. And a heartfelt thank you and congratulations to us all for being acknowledged by the Television Academy.”

As a lifestyle expert, I’m thrilled beyond words that “Red, White, and Royal Blue” by Casey McQuiston has been recognized with an Emmy nomination today. This achievement is a testament to the dedication and creativity of the entire team who breathed life into this project. We poured our hearts into every detail, infusing it with love and passion. It’s truly humbling to see the love and appreciation we’ve received in return.

“The producers expressed their deep gratitude in a statement. They acknowledged Jen, Courtenay, Julie, Sue, Amazon team, and everyone else who showed support. Casey McQuiston’s book, filled with joy and wonder, touched the hearts of many readers. We feel privileged to have adapted it into a movie. Matthew Lopez, Nick Galitzine, Taylor Zakhar Perez, and our dedicated cast and crew made this journey unforgettable. Sharing hope and love with the world is always rewarding, and we’re thankful for the fans who embraced this film.”
