As a proud member of Team USA, I couldn’t be more thrilled to have won my second gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics during the individual all-around competition on Aug. 1. I must admit, I’m overjoyed about this victory, but let’s face it, I think it’s high time for a well-deserved break from my Brazilian counterpart who claimed the silver.
Simone told reporters after the contest, “I don’t feel like competing against Rebecca anymore – I’m exhausted because she’s just too good.”
The 27-year-old found themselves chuckling over their friendly rivalry, remarking, “I’ve never been this near to an athlete before, which undeniably made me quite alert. It also unearthed the top-notch athlete within me.”
