Why The Elder Scrolls 6 Must Bring Back the Epic Atronach Duo!

A significant aspect of the adventure in the “Elder Scrolls” series involves vanquishing a variety of adversaries, ranging from common forest wolves to Daedric beings that challenge even the Dragonborn’s understanding. One particularly engaging encounter is with the Atronach, a Daedra whose power centers around one specific element. The Atronach comes in several forms, not just the traditional four elements of fire, air, water, and earth as seen in “Skyrim”. There are many more forms that should undoubtedly be included in “The Elder Scrolls 6“.

In The Elder Scrolls 6, the monsters that will make an appearance haven’t been officially confirmed yet, as no substantial updates about the game have been shared since its teaser trailer came out in 2018. However, it’s worth noting that not all creatures are specific to a single location. Creatures like Daedras, for instance, can emerge in any part of Tamriel because they originate from the Oblivion dimension and cross over into our world. It would indeed be exciting to encounter diverse adversaries such as the Elemental Daedra in TES 6 and future games in this series.

The Flesh and Air Atronachs Need to Make a Comeback in The Elder Scrolls 6

The reason Atronachs are widely admired lies in their striking appearances, with certain ones being particularly eye-catching. For instance, the Fire Elemental resembles a demon birthed from the heart of a volcano, adorned with armor that mimics molten lava and enshrouded in flames. On the other hand, the Frost Atronach appears as if it’s a living ice sculpture or a frozen troll, seemingly brought to life. Although fans often appreciate these creatures and their various elemental versions, some types such as the Air and Flesh Atronachs didn’t make an appearance in Skyrim.

Flesh Atronachs Depict the Body Horror that Comes from Necromancy

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but appreciate how Bethesda isn’t afraid to delve into the eerie and disturbing in their game worlds. The chilling presence of Eldritch entities is evident within the Fallout universe through the Dunwich Borers questline and in The Elder Scrolls series with the diverse Daedra. This penchant for the macabre is strikingly showcased by the Flesh Atronachs, animated golems brought to life through necromancy or flesh magic. To craft a Flesh Golem, an organic being’s flesh is bound to a Vestige instead of the traditional soul.

Unlike mortal beings who inhabit our world, Daedric creatures don’t have traditional souls. Instead, they have something called a “Vestige,” which is unique to them. When you see these creatures being defeated in games, it’s more likely that their Vestige gets sent back to the realm of Oblivion rather than being destroyed.

These golems resemble monstrous beings that seem to have sprung from the imagination of Brandon Cronenberg. Their shape usually appears as a haphazard assembly of mismatched body parts, with blades and weapons embedded directly into their skin. Flesh Atronachs are also known for regenerating via toxic substances, and there’s a type called the “Flesh Colossus” that can contaminate its surroundings with poison and illness. Although Skyrim players don’t get to battle these abhorrent creatures, they can encounter them in the Shivering Isles DLC for Oblivion and The Elder Scrolls Online.

Air Atronachs are a Unique Blend of Elementals

As per the established storyline of TES, Air Atronarchs are created by merging the forces of a Fire, Ice, and Storm Spirits. This fusion explains their unique talent to absorb the essence of a fallen kin, momentarily amplifying their skills. In this empowered state, they can unleash Elemental attacks derived from the Atronarch they inherited their strength from. Gamers encounter these Air Atronarchs in Elder Scrolls Online (ESO).

In the world of TES lore, Flesh and Air Elementals stand out among the Daedric creatures due to their unique appearances that differ significantly from Flame and Frost Atronachs. Their skill sets are also intricate and multi-faceted. These distinct characteristics make them compelling choices as adversaries in The Elder Scrolls 6.
