Why Was Jonathan Majors’ Interview With Keke Palmer Shelved? She Finally Explained

In April 2023, Jonathan Majors’ career and personal life experienced a significant shift due to his arrest on charges of assault, strangulation, and harassment. Later, he was convicted on two misdemeanor counts of harassment and assault. Although these legal issues have had negative effects on his professional standing, Majors appeared to be making a return earlier this year, even slated for an interview with Keke Palmer. However, that interview was later canceled, and now Palmer is disclosing the reasons behind the cancellation.

Ever since, I’ve been running my own podcast, “Baby, This is Keke Palmer,” and inviting a diverse group of guests for heart-to-hearts. My chat with Jonathan Majors was set to drop in April, but it sparked quite a stir. Later on, it was made clear that the episode wouldn’t air as planned. Lately, I sat down with The Breakfast Club crew, and they asked me about that unaired podcast episode. After some thought, I shared that perhaps opinions from others played a part in our decision to hold off on releasing it.

After discussing it with my colleagues, we collectively decided that the interview might have come across as insensitive to some people, so we decided not to release it. Although it’s still available if anyone chooses to watch it, I believe in being considerate and understanding everyone’s perspectives. If viewers don’t feel they would gain anything positive from the interview, then that’s perfectly fine. However, I had the opportunity to sit down with the individual to give them a platform to share their story.

In an interview on The Breakfast Club (X), Hustlers star Keke Palmer reinforced her sentiment by referring to a situation where individuals converse with “serial killers,” albeit stressing that she wasn’t equating Jonathan Majors with such a figure. During the conversation, Palmer expressed admiration for Meagan Good, who wed Majors in March, and even mentioned Good when expressing her interest in speaking with Majors, acknowledging that Good’s career has also been affected by controversies surrounding her husband.

It’s clear that Meagan is special to me. We’ve grown up together, and she’s been more than just a friend – she’s served as a mentor for me and an inspiration for young Black women like us. I was genuinely pleased when she got married, and I looked forward to discussing it with her. As a public figure and entertainer, my role is to maintain impartiality during my hosting duties. While not everyone agrees or likes everything about the person sitting in my seat, it’s essential to engage in conversations regardless.

Earlier this year, Jonathan Majors was promoting his drama film “Magazine Dreams,” which had faced a delay in its release due to legal complications involving the actor. When it finally premiered at Sundance Film Festival, the movie garnered fantastic reviews, and Majors himself received more accolades upon its theater release. Despite some career ups and downs, recent developments have seen the emergence of audio recordings in which Majors admits to assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari.

The 35-year-old performer is still a hot topic and continues to discover methods for earning income. Recently, he’s agreed to take on the lead role in the supernatural chiller titled “Merciless,” directed by Martin Villeneuve. Meanwhile, whispers persist about the possibility of this once top-tier star reentering the Marvel Cinematic Universe, from which he was dismissed following his conviction. Intriguingly, there have been indications that he might be keen on resuming the role of Kang the Conqueror earlier this year.

In essence, during Jonathan Majors’ interview with Keke Palmer, she implies that the discussion could potentially be revisited by her partners or the public if they show interest. However, it remains uncertain whether this conversation will eventually be released for public viewing.
