Wicked For Good’s Trailer Debuts Soon, But Only in Theaters!

It’s not an exaggeration to say that Jon M. Chu’s Wicked: For Good, set for release in 2025, is generating significant excitement. Even those who might question my prediction could find evidence in the fact that while Universal displayed some footage of the movie during their CinemaCon panel, a trailer for the final chapter of this musical retelling of Oz has not yet been unveiled to the public.

I have some exciting news and some information that might not make you too happy, but I think you’ll be glad to hear that Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande will soon appear in their full costumes. Unfortunately, it seems like clicking your heels together won’t take you back to Oz for the first trailer of For Good, as you’ll need to click on something more than just your heels – probably a link online.

Wicked For Good’s Trailer Is Debuting Very Soon, But Apparently Only In Theaters

Great news! According to a statement from Universal Pictures, the premiere of the first trailer for “Wicked: For Good” is scheduled for June 4th. This special event will happen simultaneously across all North American time zones, making it a truly global experience.

The twist is that you can only watch this sizzle reel in movie theaters, but fortunately, it will be shown during exclusive revival screenings of Wicked. This means that instead of attending a preview and then rushing back to chores like lawn work, you’re going to a full-fledged movie event.

It’s likely that lots of people would feel excited to watch the first trailer for For Good in a theater and enjoy its emotional journey, which includes laughter, tears, and maybe even some singing along with this blockbuster movie of 2024. But it’s worth considering whether many of those enthusiastic fans are prepared to actually act on that wish, particularly on an ordinary Wednesday.

Joining Peacock TV is as simple as spending $7.99 a month. This investment grants you access not only to the hit show Wicked, but also the documentary Defying Gravity: The Curtain Rises on Wicked. With an exclusive live musical event airing on NBC and Peacock this fall, it might be wise to maintain your subscription and take advantage of all that the streaming platform for NBC, Universal, and Bravo has to offer! Check out the deal here.

Instead of insisting on the traditional theater experience, particularly when re-watching classics, let me point out that a Peacock subscription might just satisfy that longing for many people, especially now.

Interestingly enough, it looks like Universal may have some unexpected treats in store for those deciding to soar westward again and catch a glimpse of the trailer for both ‘Wicked’ and its sequels in movie theaters.

Wicked’s Screening Event Does Offer A Sweet Bit Of Swag

If you choose to attend the Wicked screening on June 4th, there seems to be special “goodies” in store for the audience. Although the details aren’t clear, what is certain is that you’ll have an opportunity to obtain a memorable poster for Wicked: For Good. My assumption is that it will feature the image displayed below.

Without misinterpreting my words, let me say that just mentioning that title might cause some fans to shed tears, as it conjures up an image of Elphaba and Glinda apart, standing on opposite sides of a broad chasm along the Yellow Brick Road. Frankly, this is exactly what one would hope for in a teaser poster, and it certainly appears quite impressive.

Though not a dedicated fanatic about “Wicked“, I did truly appreciate the first half of Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande’s performance. Even though this isn’t a high-priced charity event featuring Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth, I am inclined to watch it myself. Assuming, of course, that this announcement hasn’t caused another situation like the second IMAX 70mm run of “Sinners” selling out instantly.

If you’re thrilled that the movie Wicked is returning to cinemas and you’ll get a sneak peek of its sequel’s first trailer at this exclusive event, then book your tickets straight away! Also, remember that the film Wicked: For Good is scheduled for release on November 21st. This might just mean some delightful double screenings, fingers crossed!
