I’m pondering over the notion that Martin Fowler, portrayed by James Bye, might tragically perish in the blast at The Queen Vic.

Martin finds himself caught in a difficult predicament, having feelings for both his former spouses, Ruby Allen (portrayed by Louisa Lytton) and Stacey Slater (played by Lacey Turner. In the upcoming crucial days, Stacey may decide to declare her affection.)

For several months now, Martin has found himself at the heart of various dramas: from uncovering he fathered another child, navigating a love triangle with Ruby and Stacey, worrying about his former spouse Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy), and tirelessly fighting to save the market. This comes after a relatively calm period earlier on.

Is it possible that the BBC soap is providing him with an excessive amount of screen time as a prelude to an unexpected departure?

It was an absolute pleasure to come across footage from Martin’s father, Arthur Fowler (Bill Treacher), appearing on a TV game show in the 1980s, and as an added treat, his mother Pauline (Wendy Richard) made an appearance as well.

Apart from observing Martin sitting contemplatively at Arthur’s bench in Albert Square gardens, we’ve noticed him reminding Ian Beale, his careless cousin (played by Adam Woodyatt), of the significance of the fruit and veg stall in the market, just before Ruby purchased it for Martin to assume control.
