As a longtime Marvel enthusiast with a penchant for digging into the intricacies of comic book lore, I must say that the debut of Agatha All Along has left me both captivated and eagerly speculating. The tantalizing hints dropped about Nicholas Scratch have me on the edge of my seat!
Warning: Spoilers ahead for Agatha All Along episodes 1 and 2.
As the initial installments of the Agatha All Along spin-off series unfold, speculation and gossip are abounding – much of it centered around the sinister character of Nicholas Scratch, Agatha’s alleged offspring.
Shouldn’t Agatha (Kathryn Hahn) have less on her plate, an additional source of turmoil might arise in Westview through her son Nicholas.
To put it simply, for those unfamiliar, Nicholas is Agatha’s child from the Marvel comics. He eventually took charge of the New Salem settlement in Colorado, a place inhabited by individuals with magical abilities – a community that Agatha chose to leave and live amongst ordinary folks instead.
It’s quite possible that his bond with his mother is complex, as it may involve betrayals, underhanded actions, incarcerations, disputes over belongings, and even ghostly encounters if Scratch ever appears in the storyline.
As a passionate film enthusiast, I’ve been pondering over the possibility that this character might make an appearance in upcoming episodes – or perhaps he’s already slipped into the scene undetected. Here are some of the most intriguing theories circulating right now.
Will Nicholas Scratch appear in Agatha All Along?
Although Nicholas hasn’t shown up on the show so far, there’s definitely a chance he could make an appearance.
Previous episodes have made mention of Agatha’s wicked son, Nicky. Attentive viewers will spot that when Agatha entered her home in episode 1, she was standing in a room decorated for a child, featuring a sketch labeled ‘Nicky’ and an embossed choir award bearing the name Nicholas Scratch.
It seems plausible that these signs indicate Nicholas Scratch is coming; if not, we’re optimistic about discovering his whereabouts.
A popular speculation on social media suggests that Agatha may have offered up her own son to obtain the Darkhold. Given that the early episodes hint at another child sacrifice, it’s possible that Nicholas was the initial one.
Has Nicholas Scratch already appeared in Agatha All Along?
It’s possible that some speculations exist suggesting that Nicholas might have already made an appearance on the show, disguised under another character’s name. One of the most compelling theories proposes that the character played by Joe Locke, known as “Joe Locke’s Teen,” could actually be Nicholas in disguise.
In my perspective, the Heartstopper actor has taken on an intriguing role beyond the labels of “gothic teen” and “minor magic user.” The character’s depth goes far beyond these surface descriptions. It promises to be a captivating journey into his world.
I’m hoping that spectators will find pleasure in the unveiling process; as we gradually peel back layers, not only revealing the enigma surrounding this character, but also delving into the numerous other puzzles hidden within this series.
Schaeffer added: “There’s something for everybody in the twists and turns.”
Another less conventional idea posits that Agatha’s pet rabbit, Mr. Scratchy, might be none other than her son Nicholas in disguise.
Given her name, it seems plausible, but could still be misleading, much like the deceptions in WandaVision. After all, we’ve learned not to take things at face value with Ralph Bohner-like twists, so it wouldn’t shock us if Agatha All Along turns out to be another red herring.
