Will Stalker 2 get a PlayStation port?

As a loyal PlayStation gamer for the past two decades, I can’t help but feel a twinge of jealousy when it comes to Stalker 2. My Xbox-playing and PC-master-racing friends have been eagerly counting down the days to this highly anticipated title, while us Sony owners are left on the sidelines.

I remember waiting patiently for the original Stalker games to hit PlayStation, only to be met with disappointment. I’ve learned not to hold my breath when it comes to exclusivity deals, but I can’t help hoping that GSC Game World will eventually see the error of their ways and bring Stalker 2 to my beloved console.

I’m cautiously optimistic about the rumors of a possible PlayStation 5 release in late February – if only because it would be too cruel to keep us waiting for so long without any reward. However, I won’t get my hopes up too high, as I’ve been burned before by similar promises.

All I can do is cross my fingers and hope that the game’s developers will eventually come to their senses and realize that a PlayStation port would be in the best interest of gamers everywhere. And if they don’t, well, I guess I’ll just have to keep living vicariously through my friends who are lucky enough to play on other platforms. At least until Sony decides to release a PlayStation 6, which will undoubtedly come with a built-in Stalker 2 port.

By the way, I heard that Xbox and PC players might be able to play together online – I just hope Sony won’t be left out of that party too! (I can’t help but wonder if they’ll need to use some kind of “cross-platform stalking device” to make it work…)

The globally acclaimed game Stalker 2 has left gamers everywhere spellbound – that is, those who own either an Xbox or a PC. Sony enthusiasts and PlayStation users have found themselves on the sidelines, watching as others enjoy this latest shooter. Could we perhaps see a port for PlayStation, GSC Game World? Just a suggestion!

Will Stalker 2 remain exclusive to PC and Xbox?

In a chat with Tech4Gamers, Stalker 2’s game director Ievgen Grygorovych addressed the concern about whether the game would also be available on PlayStation consoles. Unfortunately, based on current information, it appears that PlayStation users might not get to play this game.

We were fully focused on developing (and now supporting) the PC and Xbox Series X/S versions.

ouch, it seems the exclusivity might be limited to just three months, implying that Stalker 2 could potentially release on PlayStation 5 as late as February. Yet, during the interview, Grygorovych remained silent regarding these speculations.

At the very least, he didn’t directly state there won’t be a PlayStation port; that’s some reassurance. However, it might be wise not to expect a Sony console release just yet. Though history shows popular games like Stalker 2 usually come out on multiple platforms, it’s always prudent to manage expectations to prevent potential letdowns, so try not to get too excited.
