As a seasoned gamer who has navigated the cosmos of countless galaxies, I can’t help but feel a pang of nostalgia mixed with anticipation as Star Wars Outlaws prepares to launch. Having witnessed the evolution of consoles since the days of 8-bit pixelated adventures, I find myself on the cusp of another console generation, left wondering if my trusty old PS4 or Xbox One will be able to join me on this interstellar escapade.
tomorrow marks an exciting day for Star Wars enthusiasts worldwide as Star Wars Outlaws gets released globally. It’s likely that many of you are eagerly anticipating immersing yourselves in the expansive galaxy over the weekend, navigating various planets and guiding Kay Vess through the shady corners of the universe.
But can we all play, or is Outlaws only set to release on current gen consoles?
If that’s the case, is it possible to play the game even with older generation hardware or a computer that lacks the necessary specifications?

Will Star Wars Outlaws come to PS4 or Xbox One?
At the time of writing, it looks like Star Wars Outlaws is not coming to PS4 or Xbox One.
It was uncertain whether it would be released for previous-gen consoles, given that large-scale AAA games like this one primarily focus on demonstrating cutting-edge technological capabilities. Outlaws has been added to the growing list of major titles opting to bypass previous console generations.

In 2024, the highly anticipated Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, a massive AAA game that holds its ground alongside Outlaws in terms of visual appeal, will be available for PS4 and Xbox One on September 17th. This proves that even recent AAA games like this one still get ported to previous generations.
