As a seasoned rogue-lite enthusiast with years of gaming under my belt, I can’t help but feel a sense of anticipation when it comes to Motion Twin’s latest offering, Windblown. With its early access release and promise of more content on the horizon, it’s like being a kid in a candy store, albeit a very violent one filled with swords, sorcery, and the mysterious Vortex!
Motion Twin’s game, Windblown, has entered early access with 12 weapons and five distinct environments suitable for rogue-lite enthusiasts to conquer either solo or cooperatively. But this is just the beginning; expect more levels, weapons, and environments in the future. However, what exactly does the development team have up their sleeves for the near future?
In a recent Steam post, Motion Twin announced they are working on collecting feedback and refining all aspects that they consider in need of improvement (which they acknowledge is extensive). They also plan to add new features such as more enemies, Trinkets, gifts, Magifishes, and skins. However, there’s no specific timeline for these updates except for when the game has become fully stable.
As a devoted fan, I’m absolutely thrilled about the prospect of expanded biome choices, innovative gameplay mechanics, exploring ways to integrate single-player and multiplayer experiences, and much more. In addition, there’s a wealth of intriguing Vortex lore on the horizon, enhanced Steam Deck performance, and increased accessibility features (though please note that these latter improvements may require additional time to ensure they meet our high standards).
If the game achieves sufficient success, it might see a console release too. With a team of 12 members (8 in-house and 4 freelancers), they can work on different aspects simultaneously. Keep an eye out for further announcements within the next few months.
