Microsoft is planning to remove another feature from Windows 10 as it nears the end of its support period. They are currently conducting tests to downgrade computers running on this operating system.
As a devoted Windows 10 user, I’m excited about the latest Patch Tuesday update, taking our systems to Build 19045.5737! This update not only addresses numerous bugs and enhances overall performance but also makes a noticeable change – it’s gotten rid of the clock that used to show seconds within the Calendar flyout. I can hardly wait to experience these improvements firsthand!
It seems that the latest version of Windows has detected a modification, possibly an A/B test currently ongoing. While many Windows 10 computers continue to display seconds in the Calendar pop-up, some users have reported seeing a revised layout.
A number of individuals voiced their dissatisfaction regarding the recent alteration on Reddit. Those participating in the discussion hypothesized that this modification may be linked to the latest version of Outlook.
Reddit user Mineplaerminer inquired, “Is it possible that the older versions of Email and Calendar are still installed on your system? It seems like some changes made to the new Outlook might be causing this issue, as the fundamental components of the old Email and Calendar have been eliminated, and you’re also not seeing the schedules at the bottom.
Earlier this year, Microsoft imposed the latest version of Outlook on Windows 10, a move that was met with skepticism by some who felt the application wasn’t fully prepared for widespread use yet.
You can bring back the old clock that appears in the Calendar pop-up, but you’ll need to make changes to your system registry to do so.
As a devoted admirer, I must say that the freshly unveiled pop-up calendar layout seems to be presenting fewer details compared to its predecessor. Moreover, there appear to be sizable voids among the content, giving an uneasy impression of discontinuity or awkwardness.
According to Windows Latest, the absence of a seconds display in the Calendar pop-up is a source of frustration for Windows 10 users, as this feature is available in Windows 11’s taskbar clock. Unfortunately, Windows 10 does not offer the ability to show seconds at this time.
