As a lifelong fan of Winnie-the-Pooh, I must say I am thrilled about the new Funko Pop figures based on A.A. Milne’s beloved characters! It’s been a while since I’ve added to my collection, and these updated versions are just too adorable to resist. Pre-ordering Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore, Piglet, Rabbit, and Roo today feels like stepping back into the Hundred Acre Wood again.

Funko has recently introduced a fresh set of Pop vinyl figures based on A.A. Milne’s beloved character, Winnie-the-Pooh, specifically the classic Disney version. The new collection features revamped Pop figures for Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore, Piglet, Rabbit, and Roo. Pre-orders are now available as of August 27th at 12pm ET on Entertainment Earth (with free U.S. shipping on orders over $59) and also on Amazon. A flocked version of Pooh will soon be available exclusively through the Funko shop.

This week, you can explore the latest Funko Pop launches, which feature fresh waves influenced by Disney-Pixar’s The Incredibles and a lineup inspired by the legendary Sesame Street!

Regarding the classic public domain character Winnie the Pooh, a fresh animated series produced by Kartoon Studios is scheduled for release on Amazon Prime Video in 2025. This new take on Pooh will be unlike anything you’ve seen before. As shared by Kartoon Studios Chairman and CEO Andy Heyward through Deadline, here’s their vision for the character:

As a gaming enthusiast, I can’t help but express my excitement about Disney’s incredible achievement in reimagining the timeless global phenomenon, Winnie-the-Pooh. For generations, this beloved character has captured our hearts, and now, with the property entering the public domain, Disney saw an opportunity to breathe new life into Pooh for a modern audience. To do this, they aimed to create a fresh, distinct, and contemporary visual style that would not only protect their intellectual property but also echo the original essence of A.A. Milne’s characters and stories as never before seen.

He stated, “In this era where the world may seem bewildering to children, Pooh serves as a haven of goodness, rooted in family, companionship, kindness, and love. These are the very principles our interpretation of Pooh aims to emphasize, as we strive to transform Kartoon Studios’ Winnie-The-Pooh into an enduring global megabrand. In this way, the timeless and comforting values that A.A. Milne conceived will continue to thrive indefinitely.”

As a gaming enthusiast excitedly following the latest animated news, I’ve got to say, I’m pumped about Amazon’s plans! They’re planning to debut an animated holiday movie, five specials for holidays, and a whopping 104 episodes of the new Pooh series across four years. But here’s the catch – with Disney’s version of Winnie the Pooh being so deeply rooted in our collective culture, it seems like Kartoon Studios has quite an uphill battle ahead to create something unique and standalone. It’ll be fascinating to see how they manage this beloved character!
