The lone developer behind the game “Withering Rooms,” Moonless Formless, has unveiled the horror action RPG titled “Withering Realms.” Set to debut initially in Early Access on Steam for PC in Q4 of 2025, it will subsequently expand to other platforms such as consoles and PC, though specific details remain unknown.
Here is an overview of the game, via Moonless Formless:
About
In the year 1926, we find ourselves ten years following a colossal supernatural occurrence that abruptly ended the Great War and dramatically altered our world in a single night. The deceased now wander among us, ethereal beings roam freely, and certain individuals possess the extraordinary ability to perform magic.
9-year-old Clover finds herself waking up in an old, deteriorating mansion, not far from where an otherworldly incident occurred. Not long after, she realizes that she’s become a spirit or phantom.
Her only companion is a strange and powerful doll constructed from wood, metal, and human remains.
In the horror-action role-playing game crafted by the mind behind Withering Rooms, embark on an adventure with Clover and her protective doll companion, as they delve into the enigmatic town of Penwyll and its vast cemeteries, in search of a means to resurrect her.
Key Featuers
- Descend into tombs, caves and rotting estates in search of treasure, upgrade materials and magical artifacts.
- Craft weapons and machines to slot into the doll’s missing right arm like the Pivoting Greatsword, Chain Rock, Machinegun, or Flamethrower.
- Expand the world map by defeating massive perimeter guardians.
- Make allies such as the daring freelance investigator Althea who will do anything to uncover Penwyll’s dark secret including interrogation, lockpicking and forgery.
- Return to any area at night to encounter new, horrifying creatures and secrets.
