WNBA Stars SHUT DOWN the Met Gala Red Carpet! You Won’t BELIEVE These Looks!

Talk about your slam-dunk style.

At the 2025 Met Gala on May 5, Angel Reese, a key member of the event’s host committee, led the group of WNBA stars in displaying their unique fashion statements on the red carpet. (Take a look at all the red-carpet looks from the 2025 Met Gala.)

In 2024, the Louisiana State alum who is now 22 years old, and affectionately referred to as “Bayou Barbie,” adorned herself in a stylish two-piece dress featuring a crisp white collar and a corset-like waistline for this special event.

Massive rings and glittering earrings added some winning bling to the menswear-inspired look.

In fashion communities, the Chicago Sky’s standout power forward, who made her debut at the Met Gala last year, is equally recognized for her stylish appearances off the court as she is for her impressive rebounding skills and accumulating double-doubles.

In an interview with Vogue on January 8th, Reese mentioned that she’s been about both basketball and fashion since time began. As a child, she often rummaged through her mom’s closet and loved donning her clothes. She even enjoyed carrying a purse and ensuring her hair was done. This is something that still appeals to her today.

Stewart stood out in a striking white suit, perfectly complementing her towering 6-foot-4 stature, and completed the look with a stylish white fedora. In contrast, Ionescue, slightly shorter at 5-foot-11, elegantly combined a long black skirt with a crisp white bustier and a tailored cropped black tuxedo jacket.

Both looks befitting the defending WNBA champions.

As a devoted admirer, I’d express myself in this manner: I, standing tall at 6 feet 4 inches, donned a striking white suit that perfectly complemented my stature, and completed the look with a charming white fedora. On the other hand, Ionescue, slightly shorter at 5 feet 11 inches, elegantly combined a long black skirt with a crisp white bustier and a sleek cropped black tuxedo jacket.

Recently, Elena Ionescu has developed an interest in fashion; her first experience of a fashion show was in New York last year. This past January, following her gold medal victory with the U.S. women’s national team, including Stewart, at the 2024 Summer Olympics, she went back to Paris for the Dior Homme show.

She shared with Harper’s Bazaar that there’s a significant shift from college, where casual warm-ups are sufficient for games, to the professional level, particularly in New York, where it matters greatly when one walks into the tunnel. The focus is on what you’ll wear, as everyone eagerly awaits your choice.

Returning to the City of Light as a bystander was “certainly less tense,” she noted. “It’s pleasant returning here during the offseason and reminiscing. Last night, I attended an NBA game in the same stadium where we won a gold medal, so it’s been incredibly thrilling to revisit those memories while also simply savoring Paris.

This year, the host committee welcomed Reese, who is likely to represent an Olympic team in the future, alongside Grammy winner Dochii, track sensation Sha’Carri Richardson, actress Ayo Edebiri, singer Janelle Monaé, gymnastics legend Simone Biles and her NFL player husband Jonathan Owens, music icon Usher, and filmmaker Spike Lee.

At her first Met Gala appearance in 2024, Reese dazzled in a stunning mint green dress designed by Marco Capaldo for 16Arlington.
