World News Tonight’s David Muir Reacts to Being Labeled “Daddy”

David Muir is breaking the news on how he feels about being a “daddy.”

In response to social media users giving the nickname “Gimme Gimme Muir” to the host of World News Tonight, and even starting a blog called that to embrace it, the 51-year-old expressed his amusement at this humorous trend.

In a recent interview with People on May 30th, David admitted that TikTok videos about him are being shared widely, often accompanied by laughter and comments like “When did you become Daddy?”. He finds this amusing and takes it as a form of flattery, suggesting that maybe it’s something that happens when someone turns 50 or so, but he’s not entirely sure.

In a jovial manner, I mused, “Perhaps I don’t quite get it, but I’d rather have Daddy over any other option.

However, what amuses the journalist most is the fact that he doesn’t always enjoy playing the role of a news anchor, which adds to his humor.

David clarified, “Since I usually wear pants from my waist down, our focus is ensuring that those pants aren’t visible.

He commented, “I make it a point not to be overly self-important, often jokingly saying, ‘Please, keep my jean and boot collection a secret!’

Although David appreciates the talks about his TV performances, he openly acknowledges that it’s actually their dog, Axel, who truly steals the show.

He often finds that while out with his dog, people will ask if it belongs to David Muir. This observation seems to remind him that, despite any public recognition he may have, his dog remains the true center of attention.

Actually, the reporter feels that his dog could be more recognized than himself. He’s quite right about that, David joked. In fact, the dog doesn’t realize it, which adds an extra touch of charm to the situation.
