It’s been buzzing that World of Warcraft might be joining Game Pass ever since Microsoft finished acquiring Activision Blizzard, but Microsoft has officially debunked these rumors with a clear declaration stating they are untrue.
Microsoft admitted that there was an error from their side, causing confusion. They accidentally listed Blizzard’s “World of Warcraft” in a Game Pass email, although it isn’t part of the service. To rectify this mistake, they will send out a correction email shortly to those who received the initial mail.
As a devoted Game Pass subscriber, I want to clarify a point Microsoft made in their statement. It seems there was an error in an advertising email they sent out about our beloved service, which mistakenly included “World of Warcraft” among the Activision Blizzard titles available on Game Pass. The email even showcased Plunderstorm mode from World of Warcraft, suggesting it would be accessible on both PC and console platforms.
Experience top games like ‘Call of Duty’, ‘Diablo IV’, and ‘World of Warcraft’ along with more of Activision’s best titles using Game Pass, as suggested in the promotional email. It’s important to note that while a monthly subscription is needed to play, ‘World of Warcraft’ can only be accessed on PC through Blizzard’s Battle.net launcher.
Currently immersed in the “War Within” expansion, “World of Warcraft” has just initiated its second season, introducing a plethora of fresh content such as new dungeons, a brand-new raid, along with an entire new zone complete with its unique storyline and associated content.
In the realm of timeless games, World of Warcraft is preparing to debut Mists of Pandaria Classic in Summer 2025. This expansion offers both returning and new players a chance to re-live (or discover for the first time if they missed the initial release) the unique atmosphere that Mists of Pandaria provided when it debuted in 2012. At present, they are concluding Cataclysm Classic, with the remaining content set to be released over the next few months.
Conversely, World of Warcraft initiated the seventh phase of its Discovery Season, introducing fresh dungeons and commencing the Scourge Invasion. The Naxxramas raid is scheduled to debut on February 6 during this season as well.
oops, this was our bad…
It seems that an error occurred in the recent game pass email, leading to the inclusion of World of Warcraft by Blizzard, which isn’t part of the current service. Those who received the initial email should expect a correction shortly.
