To finish the “Traces of Tides VIII” segment of the latest event, you should initially search for the “Lifer’s game”. To locate this, first, make your way to the “Oakheart Highcourt”, situated at the “Fagaceae Peninsula” in the far eastern part of the region.

Upon arriving at Oakheart Highcourt, make your way to the central area by navigating through the labyrinth. If possible, jump over the walls to quickly bypass the maze, and there, you’ll encounter a mysterious Non-Player Character.

Prior to embarking on the “Lifer’s Game,” it’s essential to understand that you can initially weaken it by solving a puzzle. Make your way to the quest marker in the room to “Begin the game.” Once the statue puzzle activates, follow these instructions to unlock specific doors:

1. Rotate the left statue 45 degrees clockwise.
2. Rotate the center statue 90 degrees counterclockwise.
3. Rotate the right statue 45 degrees counterclockwise.
4. If all goes well, the doors should now be open!

  • Step #1 – Move the center piece to the north.
  • Step #2 – Move the south piece to the southwest.
  • Step #3 – Move the east piece to the southeast.

As you explore the unlocked chambers, you’ll stumble upon peculiar coins referred to as “Stakes of Imbalance.” Utilize these at specific terminals scattered across some of these rooms, which you can locate by activating your sensor and following the trails of energy it reveals.

By unlocking these doors, you’ll gain access to chambers holding a single terminal and a single stake in each. Go into each chamber, employ the stakes on the terminals to eliminate two of the Lifer’s protective buffs. Once done, return to the main room and solve the statue puzzle once more.

In this case, you should proceed to unlock additional doors without resetting the previous arrangement. Instead, reposition these items as indicated below:

  • Step #1 – Move the southeast piece back to the east.
  • Step #2 – Move the southwest piece to the center.

Instead of selecting “Start the game”, opt for the more exhilarating phrase, “Let’s get this show on the road!” Remember, your adversary’s power level is now reset to 100%, a significant decrease from its initial 300%. Brace yourself, as you will soon encounter a formidable opponent once you make this choice!

The battle itself is quite predictable. Since Chop Chop has slow and clearly telegraphed moves, you can easily dodge them. To make things quicker, ensure your team is robust enough to bring it down swiftly. Once defeated, open the chest located at the center of the room to complete this quest!
