WWE 2K25: First Look Images, 2K24 Comparisons, and Everything We Know So Far

WWE 2K25 is fast approaching, and 2K has been gradually revealing details about this eagerly awaited installment. We’ve already seen initial shots of the upcoming game featuring stars like Cody Rhodes, Bayley, and others, and we now have a date that should provide us with even more information – it’s January 28th. To keep you updated, we’ve compiled all the new images, known facts, and our speculations about the game in one convenient location. Let’s dive into the new images first.

First Looks and 2K24 Comparisons

Initial snapshots from WWE 2K25 are now circulating, showcasing upgrades to several characters including Bayley, Cody Rhodes, CM Punk, Damian Priest, and Liv Morgan. These figures were part of the lineup in WWE 2K24, with CM Punk rejoining the roster as a DLC addition post-launch. This allows us to compare their revamped appearances in 2K25 and assess any changes that may have occurred.

The initial version of Bayley’s 2K24 character was rather rough, particularly in terms of her hairstyle. However, there was a subsequent update that enhanced it significantly. In this new iteration, unfortunately, the first image is taken from an unusual angle, making it difficult to assess her entire hairdo. Nonetheless, when viewed from the side, it appears more authentic and natural. Additionally, Bayley’s facial features in this version seem more lifelike compared to the previous one.

Last year’s representation of CM Punk’s character was quite strong, and the latest update adds more refinement and accentuation to enhance its appeal. Notably, the lighting has been improved significantly, making the finer details and vibrant colors on the shirt stand out brilliantly.

In the realm of gaming, I’ve come across characters that feel incredibly lifelike, and Damian Priest is one of them. It’s almost as if he stepped out of a wrestling ring and into WWE 2K25. His character design and gear were impressive before, but in this latest edition, it’s mind-boggling how realistic they’ve made him look. The gear seems so authentic, and the resemblance is uncanny. I can only hope that the Money in the Bank briefcase will be part of the package, allowing us to catch our rivals off guard with a surprise attack.

Last year, Cody Rhodes’ character was outstanding, but this year, there’s noticeable improvement in his facial features and the fabrics of his costume. The new textures on the robe make Rhodes appear more realistic, with intricate details like folds and various textures in the lining and accessories that elevate the overall look.

In the latest edition of the video game 2K25, Liv Morgan has undergone a significant improvement in her character model compared to 2K24. The transformation is so dramatic that it’s almost like comparing night and day. Her appearance in the game now closely resembles her real-life look, with an enhanced likeness, more realistic facial features, and hair that looks far more authentic. Additionally, her gear in the new version aligns better with how she has presented herself over the past year, making it a significant upgrade overall.

Confirmed Roster and Roster Predictions

2K24 boasted an impressive lineup with a total of 338 characters in the game. If you exclude the 9 managers and approximately 100 alternate versions of prominent figures, you’re left with roughly 200 distinct playable superstars. This count includes all downloadable content released for the game. Most of these characters are expected to carry over to 2K25, though there may be a few adjustments to the playable roster due to new releases.

Since the launch of 2K24, Bobby Lashley, Cameron Grimes, Damon Kemp, Drew Gulak, Dijak, Indi Hartwell, Jinder Mahal, MVP, Veer, Sanga, and Xia Li are no longer part of WWE. Previously, if a released superstar was included in the game at the time of departure, they would remain in the game, allowing fans to potentially play as some of these personalities based on their development status at that point.

In the upcoming WWE 2K25 game, we can expect most of the fresh faces to come from NXT superstars since the brand has been quite active when it comes to free agents. Some of these rising stars who have made a significant impact throughout the year and were not in the previous version (WWE 2K24) include Giulia, Oba Femi, Stephanie Vaquer, Sol Ruca, Jaida Parker, Lola Vice, Ethan Page, Lexis King, and Shawn Spears. Here’s hoping that many of these newcomers will grace the WWE 2K series for the first time in this latest edition.

Speaking of Raw and SmackDown, a lot of fresh talents have been promoted from NXT, such as Bron Breakker, Tiffany Stratton, Carmelo Hayes, Lyra Valkyria, and Ilja Dragunov. Jade Cargill was introduced in the game last year as DLC. However, there’s one major debut that everyone is eager to include in the game, which recently took place on Raw.

Penta recently made his WWE appearance during the second week of the new WWE Raw era on Netflix. His debut against Chad Gable generated a lot of buzz, and fans are already eager to see him in the game. If he’s included, it’s likely he’ll be downloadable content (DLC) for this year’s game, but there’s optimism that we might see Penta in WWE 2K for the first time this year.
