WWE NXT Reveals First CW Promo

As a long-time WWE fan with a heart full of nostalgia, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement as I witness the evolution of my beloved NXT. For years, it’s been the breeding ground for some of the most electrifying and unforgettable superstars in the wrestling world, and now, it’s moving to The CW!

Starting this fall, WWE NXT will transition from its long-standing home on USA Network to The CW. This is part of a broader adjustment in WWE’s programming strategy, as Raw shifts to Netflix and SmackDown moves to USA. As we approach the October debut date, WWE has begun gearing up for the promotion rollout, and NXT has now released its inaugural promo and commercial for the upcoming CW premiere. The new advertisement showcases Trick Williams and several NXT stars like Kelani Jordan, Tank, Tony D’Angelo, and Fallon Henley. Additional footage is also included of other stars such as Roxanne Perez, Lola Vice, Oba Femi, Wes Lee, Sol Ruca, Nathan Frazer, Axiom, Joe Coffey, Lash Legend, and others. NXT’s premiere on The CW is scheduled for October 1st, and you can watch the first promo for this exciting move here.

WWE NXT Reveals First CW Promo

Over the last few months, the CW has experienced some changes, and it appears that WWE’s NXT aligns well with the direction the network is heading. Dennis Miller, President of The CW Network, expressed his excitement about incorporating WWE into their sports programming lineup, stating that they are committed to broadcasting live sporting events year-round. WWE NXT offers a great fit for The CW due to its energetic young talent and rising stars, as well as its unpredictable weekly shows. Moreover, the fervor and dedication of WWE fans is unprecedented, and The CW is eager to expand this audience by making WWE NXT their new home on broadcast television.

According to Nick Khan, WWE President, The CW has made significant strides in its sports programming over the past year. It’s an incredibly thrilling prospect to broaden the reach of NXT by debuting the show on broadcast TV for the very first time in NXT’s history.

The Right Move for CW

As someone who has been a long-time fan of WWE, I am both excited and slightly apprehensive about the upcoming changes to their marquee shows. Having grown up watching Raw and SmackDown on USA Network, it’s hard not to feel a sense of nostalgia as these iconic shows move to new homes over the next year. However, I understand the business side of things, and I know that sometimes change is necessary for growth and survival.

Miller explained that the cost of Raw and SmackDown was more than our budget initially. However, he noted that there are many sports with a similar structure, where an event (like Xfinity races or NXT) serves as a stepping stone to the top tier (Cup or Raw and SmackDown). As it turned out, this structure seemed to align well with our situation. After several discussions over a couple of months, we were able to negotiate and finalize the deal.
