As a die-hard wrestling fan since the days of Hulk Hogan and The Ultimate Warrior, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming WWE Raw premiere on Netflix next week! The tension between Seth Rollins and CM Punk has been simmering for years, and their war of words on the mic this past week was a reminder of just how electric these two can be.
I remember when Punk first burst onto the scene in 2011 and captured the WWE Championship from John Cena, igniting a wave of passion and energy that hadn’t been seen in years. And Rollins, who debuted as Dean Ambrose in 2012, quickly became one of my favorite performers with his high-flying moves and charismatic personality.
Their rivalry promises to be explosive, especially given the personal jabs they’ve thrown at each other over the years. I can’t wait to see who comes out on top when they face off in the ring next week!
And let’s not forget about some of the other marquee matches that have been announced for the event. Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa going toe-to-toe in a Tribal Combat match, Rhea Ripley challenging Liv Morgan for the Women’s World Championship, and Drew McIntyre taking on Jey Uso are just a few of the highlights that have me counting down the days until January 6th.
But what really gets me pumped is the prospect of John Cena kicking off his retirement tour in the building. I remember watching him grow from a young upstart to one of the biggest stars in wrestling history, and it’s going to be bittersweet seeing him hang up the boots for good. But I have no doubt that he’ll go out with a bang!
And if that weren’t enough, award-winning rapper Travis Scott will also be in attendance. As a fan of both wrestling and hip hop, I can’t think of a better way to celebrate the convergence of these two worlds than by having Travis there to soak it all in.
All in all, this WWE Raw premiere on Netflix is shaping up to be one for the ages, and I can hardly wait to see what unfolds next week! And as a final thought, I’d like to leave you with this joke: Why don’t wrestlers use computers? Because they can’t Ctrl+Alt+Delete their mistakes!
Prior to their clash at the upcoming WWE Raw Netflix debut next week, Seth Rollins and CM Punk engaged in a final verbal confrontation in the ring.
The two gentlemen have made no attempt to hide their mutual dislike, with Rollins being particularly outspoken about it. In fact, ever since Rollins re-joined WWE, he has publicly declared his intention to “get rid of the tumor” (Punk), a term that was used in the past to describe Punk’s alleged negative influence in the locker room during his time with AEW. This time, Rollins didn’t hold back and directly criticized Punk’s past actions. He brought up his previous comments on Colt Cabana’s podcast when he left WWE and suggested that Punk had taken money from their competitors (AEW).
Previously, the World Heavyweight Champion was reminded by Punk that there were conflicts with upper management, specifically Vince McMahon, during their time. Interestingly, McMahon seemed to favor Rollins. He implied that he received numerous criticisms on his way out of the company, and now he plans to return those criticisms to Rollins, metaphorically speaking by saying he will drive the ‘arrows’ he encountered deep into Rollins. That sounds painful.
Who won that war of words on the microphone tonight on #WWERaw?!

WWE Raw on Netflix Premiere
The upcoming premiere of WWE Raw looks set to rival the intensity of a Premium Live Event. While Punk and Rollins have a significant match, it’s not just about them. Roman Reigns from SmackDown will engage in a Tribal Combat match with Solo Sikoa for the Ula Fala ownership and the title of Tribal Chief. Moreover, Rhea Ripley will confront Liv Morgan for the Women’s World Championship one last time under a Last Woman Standing rule.
As a moviegoer eagerly awaiting the showdown at the Intuit Dome, I’ve got a gut feeling that Ripley won’t be leaving empty-handed. The highly anticipated clash between Drew McIntyre and Jey Uso has been confirmed, and it seems that McIntyre is on a rampage, targeting anyone even remotely connected to Punk and Reigns. His recent victory over Sami Zayn on WWE Raw is proof of his relentless pursuit. What’s more, the news that John Cena will commence his 2025 retirement tour in the very same venue has sent shockwaves through the wrestling world. This event promises to be a spectacle not soon forgotten!
It’s uncertain if this event will lead to a fight, a declaration during the Royal Rumble, or setting up a plotline, but whenever John Cena steps into the ring, it always attracts attention. Moreover, the esteemed rapper Travis Scott has been invited and will be present at the event. Interestingly, his music serves as the theme for WWE Raw, and he was specifically invited by WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque.
Starting at 8 p.m. Eastern Time on January 6th, the event is going to be broadcast live and worldwide on Netflix. Keep an eye on ComicBook for any latest updates about WWE.
