WWE Raw on Netflix: The Undertaker Asked Triple H to Make Major Change

As a gamer with over two decades of wrestling fandom under my belt, I can say that the shift of WWE Monday Night Raw to Netflix is a game-changer for the industry and for me personally. The opportunity for the product to be edgier and more unfiltered on a weekly basis has me absolutely thrilled!

WWE is making a significant change in its television broadcasting strategy by partnering with Netflix. Starting from 2025, their popular show “WWE Monday Night Raw” will be available on Netflix instead of traditional cable TV for the first time ever in its long history. This move is generating excitement among fans and talent due to the potential reach of Netflix’s platform and the possibility of presenting an edgier, uncensored version of the weekly program.

The Deadman has one suggestion for WWE Monday Night Raw‘s move to Netflix.

On his Six Feet Under podcast, The Undertaker reached out directly to WWE’s Chief Content Officer, Paul “Triple H” Levesque, to ask if WWE Monday Night Raw might return to its original two-hour format following the transition to Netflix.

As a gaming enthusiast might put it, “At the culmination of WWE SummerSlam, I had the pleasure of crossing paths with Paul, Triple H. With my calendar brimming with engagements these days, this wrestling spectacle was quite the marathon for me. I approached him warmly, shared a hearty hug, bid him farewell, and expressed my anticipation to meet up again at Mania. He picked up on my intentions. Afterward, I found myself in the company of Paul and Bruce Prichard, perched high above as we were at Gorilla Position. Intrigued by the length of the show, I joked, ‘This show’s really three hours long? When you guys stream it on Netflix, is this show going to trim back down to two hours? Three hours, why three hours?’ It’s always been three hours, but I was just trying to emphasize that it’s quite a bit of wrestling for a Monday night.”

Since Summer 2012, WWE Monday Night Raw has been airing for a full three hours, and this format has remained unchanged since then. Opinions among fans about the extended runtime have often been divided, but WWE has consistently resisted any proposals to alter it because of the significant additional revenue generated by the third hour of broadcast. Unlike traditional TV, when streaming on Netflix, WWE Monday Night Raw doesn’t need to worry about commercial breaks as they are not a factor for the platform. Although ad-supported tiers of Netflix will still include commercials, these ads no longer serve to fund the product since Netflix subscriber fees cover its costs instead.

WWE Monday Night Raw moves to Netflix in January 2025.
