WWE Reportedly Looking to Rebrand Judgment Day Stable

As a long-time WWE fan who has seen countless shifts and changes in the wrestling world, I must admit that the transformation of Judgment Day into “Street Trash” left me somewhat perplexed. The group’s metamorphosis from a dominant force to a seemingly temporary alliance seems like a step back, rather than forward.

2022 saw the formation of the influential Judgment Day stable by WWE Hall of Famer Edge, a group that has proven its strength ever since. As WrestleMania 38 approached, Edge took on AJ Styles but turned heel and adopted a new theme song called “The Other Side” by Alter Bridge, which became the anthem of Judgment Day. He secured victory with assistance from Damian Priest, and Rhea Ripley joined the action only a month later. Balor was eventually introduced to the group, but Edge was betrayed by his fellow members shortly after he left, leading to his exit. Over the past two years, this group has earned numerous accolades, including the Money in the Bank winner for men, multiple men’s Tag Team Championship runs, the NXT North American Championship, and the Women’s World Championship.

At the SummerSlam event held by WWE, the formerly united group disbanded as Mysterio initially betrayed Ripley, joining forces with current Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan instead. This move enraged Priest, who was seeking out Mysterio ahead of his title match. In a surprising twist, even Priest’s friend Balor turned against him, preventing him from retaining the World Heavyweight Championship, which allowed Gunther to win his first world title in WWE. With Ripley and Priest, also known as the Terror Twins, now opposing the remnants of Judgment Day, there are no more original members left within the group.

As a long-time fan of professional wrestling and someone who has followed the careers of Morgan, Mysterio, Carlito, JD McDonagh, and Balor for years, I find it intriguing to see these five talented individuals forming a new group within WWE. Their combined skills and charisma have the potential to create some truly memorable moments in the ring.

The intriguing point here is that Gunther contacted Priest in preparation for their title clash at SummerSlam. However, many spectators are not enthused about this arrangement, expressing skepticism on X that it appears to be a temporary solution until Priest and Ripley beat them. In essence, the moniker “Street Trash” implies a conflict with Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley that will persist until they defeat this group, after which the faction is expected to disband. As one user put it, “Street Trash” symbolizes our ongoing feud with Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley, which will end once they beat us, effectively ending the group.”

It’s intriguing to observe where this leaderless group might head next. The reason Priest was ousted was due to his emerging leadership qualities that clashed with others. Despite the lack of a defined leader, Balor often takes charge and appears poised for another major boost soon.
