Some notable figures are absent from WWE’s active roster due to various factors, but one of WWE’s most prominent stars, Charlotte Flair, is set to return to action. After many speculations and leaks, WWE officially announced on SmackDown that the esteemed Charlotte Flair is returning to our screens, and it won’t be too long from now. In fact, WWE has already released a promo video for her comeback, and with her name displayed prominently, there’s no question that The Queen will soon re-enter the fray. You can check out the return teaser below.
As a dedicated admirer, I must recall that the last time I witnessed Flair in the ring was back in December of 2023. During a fierce encounter with Asuka, an unfortunate incident left Flair injured. Subsequent medical assessments disclosed a torn ACL, MCL, and meniscus, which sidelined her for a considerable period. However, over the past few months, her resilience has been evident as we’ve watched her train diligently on social media, fueling speculation about her impending comeback.
In a conversation with the Forever Young Podcast, Flair shared insights about her psychological state following her injury. She confessed that she felt quite shattered right after the incident. However, she managed to recover swiftly and has since been putting in immense effort to return and be the optimal version of herself.

Initially, I thought my life had reached its end [laughs], as Flair put it. But then I realized, here was a perfect storm – my husband [Andrade] was returning to the company, or preparing to do so, and I knew he would soon debut. Since I was removed from action due to an injury, I’ve been telling myself that I will return stronger than ever as The Queen, and when I do return, you won’t want to miss it!
To be honest, I’m unsure if I would have stepped aside without the injury, but either way, it’s been a tough battle for me. However, I believe this struggle will ultimately help me improve in the future.
If Flair makes her comeback shortly, she’ll likely become part of the title scene that underwent a recent upheaval. Given that she’s set to rejoin SmackDown, let’s focus on the blue brand’s title picture for now. At present, Tiffany Stratton holds the WWE Women’s Championship and Chelsea Green has the newly minted Women’s United States Championship.
As a passionate cinephile, I must admit that both titles present captivating prospects. However, for someone like Flair just starting out, the U.S. Title might be the more advantageous choice upon her arrival. Given that it’s the inaugural Title in WWE, it presents an opportunity Flair hasn’t grasped before – something hard to come by. Moreover, a match between Flair and Green could be electrifying, both physically and verbally.
Another intriguing possibility is a face-off between Flair and Stratton, a clash that promises to be equally thrilling. This potential match could seamlessly slot into the lineup for WrestleMania 31 as well.
