WWE Reveals New Event on Same Day as AEW Worlds End

As a lifelong wrestling enthusiast who’s been following the industry since the days of Hulkamania and the Four Horsemen, I can hardly contain my excitement about the unprecedented clash of titans that is happening later this year! On December 28th, Orlando, Florida will play host to not one, but TWO major wrestling events: WWE’s Live event as part of their Holiday Tour and AEW’s Worlds End pay-per-view. It’s like Christmas came early for us fans!

On uncommon occasions, WWE and AEW events intersect, making these instances noteworthy. An even rarer occurrence is when both WWE and AEW hold events on the same day in the same city, but that’s exactly what will happen towards the end of this year. WWE has announced that they will be hosting a live event as part of their WWE Holiday Tour on December 28th, which will take place at the Kia Center in Orlando, Florida. Coincidentally, this is also the day for AEW’s annual pay-per-view event, Worlds End, which will be held at the Addition Financial Arena in Orlando. This means that they are approximately a 20-minute drive apart (according to Fightful).

A Rare Occasion

Essentially, it’s important to note that WWE Live and AEW’s Worlds End are not the same kind of events; while WWE Live won’t be broadcasted in any manner, AEW’s Worlds End is a major pay-per-view event. This means fans who happen to be near both locations on the same day will have a wonderful dilemma – deciding which exciting wrestling event to attend!

Generally speaking, WWE and AEW’s weekly programs no longer air concurrently unless there’s a change in schedule due to sports events or special occasions. It’s usually playoff games that cause AEW shows to reschedule, which means in the past, AEW Dynamite has gone head-to-head with WWE NXT. In contrast, WWE tends to switch networks rather than days when they need to alter their schedule, such as the recent shift from their usual channel to Syfy.

Occasionally, pay-per-views have aired on the same day, yet it’s unusual for them to clash head-on. Typically, one event happens earlier in the day while the other occurs at night. However, they usually manage to maintain some level of separation. Not every time, but more often than not. The upcoming events for both companies are AEW All In and WWE Bash in Berlin. You can find details about each event in the rundowns provided below.
