WWE Teases Debut of Former AEW Champion Weeks After Departure

As a seasoned wrestling enthusiast with decades of watching and analyzing the industry, I can confidently say that Penta El Zero Miedo’s imminent debut in WWE is a significant move for both the company and the luchador himself. Over the years, I’ve seen countless talents come and go, but few have captured the hearts of fans quite like Penta and his brother Rey Fenix did in AEW.

Their high-flying, adrenaline-pumping moves and electrifying performances were a breath of fresh air in the tag team division. I can still remember their epic matches that left me on the edge of my seat, waiting to see what they would pull off next. The Lucha Bros were truly a sight to behold.

However, it seems that their time in AEW has come to an end, and I’m excited to see them reunite in WWE where they can bring their unique style and energy to the table. The tag team division in WWE is currently lacking, and Penta and Fenix are just what the doctor ordered.

Fenix’s recent grievances with AEW have been well-documented, and it’s clear that he and his brother felt stagnant in their current environment. I believe that a move to WWE will give them the opportunity to grow and thrive, both as individuals and as a team.

With WWE entering a new era on Netflix next week, the addition of Penta El Zero Miedo will undoubtedly help diversify the product and offer more opportunities for wrestlers from Mexico and beyond. I can’t wait to see what they bring to the table and what exciting matches they’ll be involved in.

As for a joke, let me leave you with this: I heard that when Penta and Fenix join WWE, they’re planning on bringing their own luchador-sized popcorn buckets! 😉

For several weeks now, WWE has been broadcasting hints about the arrival of ex-AEW star Penta El Zero Miedo across their various shows. A basic zero with a line through it initially served as these hints, but it has since evolved into an image representing his mask.

Initially, Penta and his younger brother Rey Fenix were both recognized as founding members of the Lucha Bros tag team within AEW. During their time there, they managed to secure the AEW Tag Team Championship and Trios Championship titles. However, Penta has since left the company, while Fenix still has remaining contract time due to previous injuries.

The well-known wrestler made an appearance at AAA Mexico, revealing his intention to temporarily step away to consider his future plans. There was a buzz in the air suggesting that he might soon join WWE.

Previously, he made it clear that he was currently with AEW, without hinting about his future plans. Later on, Fightful Select revealed that Penta’s AEW contract started around early December, which is when the vignettes first appeared.

Regarding Fenix, his experience with AEW lately hasn’t been great. He’s been subtly expressing his discontent with his employer on social media, accusing them of unfair treatment. His last match for AEW was against Tony Nese in July. According to the latest issue of Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer suggests that Penta and Fenix were growing restless in AEW and were aware that WWE also wanted to sign them.

Once Fenix completes his tenure in AEW, it seems logical for him to move on to WWE, reuniting with his brother to revive their tag team fame. The WWE tag team section is currently deficient, and they don’t have many lucha libre-style duos among the active roster. Joining this niche would add diversity to the product and offer more chances for wrestlers, not just within Mexico but also internationally.

As a follower, I’m thrilled to share that Penta seems to be making an appearance, and this comes at a momentous time for WWE, particularly for Raw. Starting next week, Raw will be streaming on Netflix for the first time, expanding WWE’s reach even further. The initial episode on Netflix includes a debut match between CM Punk and Seth Rollins, a Tribal Combat battle between Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa, a clash between Liv Morgan and Rhea Ripley, a visit from John Cena, and many more exciting events. Don’t miss the action starting January 6th at 8 p.m. EST.

Stay tuned to ComicBook for updates on WWE.
