WWE's Blair Davenport and Unholy Union Reveal What Led to New Alliance

As a seasoned wrestling fan with over two decades of watching and analyzing the squared circle, I can’t help but feel a sense of excitement and nostalgia as Blair Davenport aligns herself with Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn on SmackDown. The Unholy Union, as they are known, seems to be stepping up their game, and it’s refreshing to see them assert themselves against the likes of Jade Cargill, Bianca Belair, and Naomi.

In the WWE SmackDown event, Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn successfully guarded their Women’s Tag Team Championships against Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair, the previous titleholders. This was their first defense since capturing the titles back in June. Despite seemingly setting the stage for the demise of the Unholy Union, the duo managed to surprise everyone with some hidden tactics they employed during the contest. As the match reached its climax, ex-NXT star Blair Davenport joined forces with the champions, stunning fans, Belair, and Cargill alike.

After the SmackDown, Fyre, Dawn, and Davenport discussed their fresh alliance. The champions appeared unfazed by the circumstances as they had already accomplished what they intended. However, when Fyre labeled them bullies, Davenport shared her observations of Cargill, Belair, and Naomi’s actions backstage that led to her decision to join forces.

Davenport explained on an exclusive for WWE SmackDown, “Why do you ask? It’s because I overheard Jade, Bianca, and Naomi gossiping about us behind the scenes, believing they could do so without facing any consequences.” They seem to think they’re close friends or something like that.

As a seasoned gamer, I’d rephrase that statement like this: “We go way back, from the NXT UK days to the Japanese wrestling scene, all over the UK grappling scene. They might claim friendships today, but our history runs deeper and holds more weight.” (h/t: Fightful)

At the WWE draft this year, following WrestleMania, Davenport was among the notable players promoted to the main roster. Although she had technically been part of SmackDown before, she hadn’t appeared on TV much until June. Her most recent match was against Naomi, which seems to be laying the groundwork for her character transformation. She is currently four matches into her time on SmackDown and hasn’t managed to secure a single victory yet.

With Cargill and Belair now playing significant roles, it provides an opportunity for Fyre and Dawn to expand their influence and potentially reach even greater heights than their predecessors. They’ve been part of the main roster since last May, and though they had a strong debut, they subsequently vanished from television screens completely until their return in May.
