WWE's CM Punk Calls Out The Rock and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin

As a long-time wrestling enthusiast with countless memories etched into my mind like indelible ink, I can hardly contain my excitement at the prospect of witnessing a CM Punk vs Stone Cold Steve Austin match at WrestleMania 41! The anticipation has been building for over a decade, and it’s not just the fans who are eagerly awaiting this epic showdown.

CM Punk’s comeback to WWE in November sparked conversations among fans about numerous potential dream matches now within reach. One such match was with “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, a face-off that WWE hinted at more than a decade ago but never materialized due to Austin being out of active competition and Punk preparing to leave. Rumors about making it happen resurfaced late last year and it’s been on many fans’ minds since.

Punk Wants to Wrestle Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock

Recently, Stone Cold had a chat where he hinted at returning to WWE as they plan to visit his region next year, which sparked lots of fan theories and dream matchmaking between the two legendary figures. More recently, Punk has expressed interest in battling Stone Cold, even warning him with his iconic finishing move, the Anaclastic Concussion (GTS).

In response to a question at Fanatics Fest NYC, Punk stated that any decision regarding a potential return for Steven (Stone Cold) is not his call. He praised Stone Cold for making a successful comeback and main-eventing WrestleMania. If Stone Cold chooses to reactivate his wrestling career, Punk offered himself as a partner. However, he expressed his belief that it should have happened over a decade ago. If Stone Cold decides to return, he can reach out to Punk. Stone Cold last wrestled at WrestleMania 38 in a No Holds Barred match against Kevin Owens, marking his first full-length match in almost two decades as a WWE Hall of Famer.

Apart from Punk, his name was also tossed into the mix for a potential rematch with The Rock after their bouts at the 2013 Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber. In a Fanatics Fest auction, he expressed his interest by saying, “Count me in! I’ve been asked about Steve Austin recently. How about one night for Steve, another for The Rock? Let’s get this show on the road at WrestleMania!”

The possibility of a Rock match is more believable than ever before. This year at WrestleMania 40, he made his official comeback, initially teaming up with Roman Reigns against Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins. During the second night of the event, Rock tried to help Reigns keep the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship but was unsuccessful due to a few unexpected assistants who derailed their strategy. He has hinted at making further appearances, particularly at WrestleMania 41.
