WWE's Cody Rhodes Addresses Facing Randy Orton

As a lifelong wrestling fan, I can’t help but feel the excitement building every time Cody Rhodes steps into the ring. His match against Kevin Owens at WWE Bash in Berlin was nothing short of electrifying, and it’s clear that their chemistry together is something special. The question on everyone’s mind is whether one of Rhodes’ allies, like Randy Orton, will eventually turn on him.

At the WWE Bash in Berlin, Cody Rhodes faced off against one of his closest friends and most trusted allies in WWE – Kevin Owens. Although Rhodes managed to keep his Undisputed WWE Championship, he boosted Owens to a position he hasn’t occupied for years. This achievement can be attributed partly to Owens’ exceptional talent as a performer, but their chemistry in the ring is truly remarkable. Speculation among fans persists about whether Owens – or maybe even another ally, Randy Orton – will eventually betray Rhodes; however, such an event has yet to occur. Despite this, both men have hinted at the possibility through various means.

Ever since Randy Orton’s win at Rhodes’ WrestleMania, it seems Orton has been aiming for the championship title, but he hasn’t attempted to claim it yet. They haven’t fought each other since 2013, when Rhodes risked his career in their match (and unfortunately lost). Over the years, Rhodes has transformed into a completely different wrestler compared to his past self, while Orton continues to excel at an impressive level even in his forties. This potential match-up is considered one of the biggest dream matches in WWE history.

Cody Rhodes’ Thoughts on Huge WWE Dream Match

Rhodes weighed in on the conversation during the Bash in Berlin press conference, explaining that there would have to be a lot of decision making before that match could take place. He also refers to it being “a lot of drama” and “cinema.”

Regarding him potentially challenging for the title, there seems to be a strong desire among fans to see that fight. It’s quite unlike any encounter I had when I debuted on Monday Night Raw with Randy Orton as my opponent. To be honest, it would require a series of events to unfold for that match to materialize.

Indeed, that’s a genuine bond and camaraderie, much like a mentor and their student. Yet, it’s not something I would shy away from. In fact, often, it’s the people who have witnessed your journey the closest who help you see your growth the most. And when it comes to closeness, no one surpasses Randy Orton for me. So, there’s plenty of drama, as the Bloodline fans would say – a lot of ‘drama’ indeed. But as for any plans regarding this, none at the moment.

At the event called Bash, Orton and Gunther squared off again for the World Heavyweight Championship, a rematch of their encounter at King and Queen of the Ring. This time, the outcome was undeniably clear-cut, with Gunther emerging victorious once more. Earlier, he had clinched the title at SummerSlam, making it seem unlikely that he’d lose it here. Yet, the match lived up to all expectations, showcasing the skill and prowess of these two esteemed wrestlers.
