WWE's Drew McIntyre Reveals His Plans for CM Punk's Bracelet After Bash in Berlin (Exclusive)

As a die-hard WWE fan with years of watching and analyzing wrestling under my belt, I can confidently say that the upcoming strap match between Drew McIntyre and CM Punk is shaping up to be one for the ages. The friendship bracelet saga has added an intriguing layer to their rivalry, and it’s clear that McIntyre revels in the torment he causes Punk over something as seemingly insignificant as a piece of jewelry.

Right now, Drew McIntyre is deeply engaged in an intriguing narrative in WWE alongside CM Punk. Over the weekend, these two powerhouses will engage in a strap match, a unique contest where they’ll be tied together by ropes and must touch each corner of the ring to secure victory. Both have previous experience in this setting, but following Punk’s defeat at SummerSlam, when he momentarily lost sight of his goal – a friendship bracelet engraved with his wife AJ Mendez (ex-WWE wrestler AJ Lee) and their dog Larry’s names – he’s seeking retribution.

Prior to the upcoming match, ComicBook had a chat with McIntyre about his part in Lionsgate’s movie “The Killer’s Game,” which is based on Jay R. Bonansinga’s book. He shares screen time with future WWE Hall of Famer Dave Bautista, Sofia Boutella, and Terry Crews. When queried about his intentions for the bracelet, McIntyre expresses that he has pondered splitting it apart but derives greater pleasure from the distress he inflicts on Punk instead.

McIntyre commented, “I always carry this thing around with me, but I don’t know what to do with it. Sometimes, I contemplate destroying it, but that seems too simple. It brings him immense emotional pain and distress, which amuses me. To me, it’s just worthless junk, but once I retire from wrestling and get surgery for all the high fives I received after beating Punk out of wrestling, I might frame it and display it in a glass case.”

Display it prominently over my fireplace, highlighting my most significant accomplishment. It wasn’t about grappling at WrestleMania or accumulating multiple world titles; it was about keeping things running smoothly during the global pandemic lockdown. Outshining CM Punk in wrestling? That takes the cake. I also had a role in an actual film, something he hasn’t experienced yet. Straight to DVD, that one went for Punk.

In the movie titled “The Killer’s Game,” directed by JJ Perry, the main character Joe Flood, played by Bautista, is a skilled hitman who learns he has a terminal illness. Instead of accepting his fate, he plans to orchestrate his own death. However, when the assassins he hires also target his former lover (Boutella), he must outwit his fellow assassins and reclaim her affection before it’s too late. Pom Klementieff and Ben Kingsley are among the stars in this film, which was written by Rand Ravich and James Coyne. “The Killer’s Game” is produced by Andrew Lazar (Mad Chance), Steve Richards (Endurance Media), Kia Jam (K. Jam Media), and Lipsync.

The Killer’s Game releases in theaters on September 13th.
