As a seasoned gamer of the squared circle, I’ve seen my fair share of matches that could make a grown man weep and cheer simultaneously. The Gauntlet Match for the WWE NXT Women’s North American Championship at Halloween Havoc was one such spectacle!

At Halloween Havoc, the WWE NXT Women’s North American Championship was at stake, but the usual one-on-one contest wasn’t the case. Champion Kelani Jordan had to defend her Title against the trio of Fatal Influence consecutively in a Gauntlet Match, which made her chances of keeping the Title slim. However, if anyone could pull it off, it was Jordan, and she managed to defeat Jazmyn Nyx and Jacy Jayne in her first two matches. She seemed poised to make it happen against Fallon Henley, but a helping hand from Nyx and Jayne allowed Henley to pin Jordan and claim victory. But the show didn’t end there. Zaria suddenly emerged in the ring and launched a fierce assault on all three women, making her presence felt in her first in-ring appearance. You can catch the action here.

Two Down, One To Go

Initially, Jordan faced off against Nyx, and they engaged in a series of grapples until Nyx received a powerful kick to the face and a dropkick, causing her to exit the ring. Subsequently, Jordan executed a springboard moonsault that brought Nyx crashing down onto the floor. A crossbody move ensued, leading to a cover attempt, but Nyx miraculously managed to survive. Despite this, Jordan continued to press forward, and although Nyx fought valiantly, Jordan ultimately triumphed in their skirmish, securing the first elimination.

Next came Jacy Jayne, but Jordan quickly sent her out of the ring with an initial blow. Following that, Jordan executed another powerful move from the ropes, sending Jayne crashing to the floor. Jordan acted swiftly, climbing to the top rope and performing a crossbody, attempting a pin, but Jayne managed to survive by kicking out.

In the match, Jordan received a strong knee strike to the face that almost resulted in a pin, but Jordan managed to avoid it. Instead of letting her up, Jayne tightly gripped Jordan around the neck and head. However, Jordan regained her footing and secured the decisive victory against Jayne, leaving Jayne astonished. Yet, she wasn’t going down without making a final impact.

The Numbers Game

Jayne retaliated by hitting Jordan, our champion, with a punch to the head following her defeat. Immediately after, Fallon Henley dashed towards the ring and started attacking Jordan. Henley forcefully pushed Jordan’s face into the turnbuckle multiple times, but Jordan managed to respond with an elbow strike. Henley then knocked down Jordan for a pin, but Jordan somehow avoided defeat by kicking out. Frustrated, Henley repeatedly slammed Jordan’s face into the mat.

In a surprising turn of events, Jordan thwarted Henley’s suplex maneuver, instead slamming Henley for a potential win, but Henley managed to avoid defeat by kicking out. As Jordan attempted to lift Henley again, Henley cleverly jabbed her fingers into Jordan’s eyes to disrupt the move. Both athletes then exchanged powerful clothesline blows, leaving them both on the ground. They rose and traded heavy blows, with Jordan delivering two consecutive knockdowns to Henley before executing a decisive final kick, thus concluding their trilogy of matches.

As a gamer, I took a hard hit from Henley when he soared up high and delivered a massive slam from the top rope, but I managed to avoid the three count by kicking out just in time. Henley attempted to hoist me again, but I thwarted it with a well-timed kick, then retaliated by slamming him down, face first, onto the mat.

I was ecstatic as I leaped for the moonsault, nailing it perfectly, but Nyx cleverly diverted the referee’s attention on the apron. This tactic gave Henley the precious moments needed to recover, and he indeed managed to kick out of the pin. The stage was set for a dramatic twist when Jayne intervened, momentarily disorienting me. Seizing this opportunity, Henley skillfully raised his knees in time for my 450, slamming me down hard before securing the pin and clinching the Women’s North American Championship title. What a rollercoaster of emotions!

At that moment, the lights blacked out and Zaria’s music echoed. Instead of her usual entrance where she seemed to materialize from the crowd, this time she appeared surprisingly from behind Fatal Influence inside the ring. She launched an assault on all three members, ultimately knocking them down. Fatal Influence lay in ruins as Zaria stood victorious in the center of the ring.
