WWE’s Giovanni Vinci Loses SmackDown Debut in Record Time

WWE's Giovanni Vinci Loses SmackDown Debut in Record Time

As a long-time WWE fan who has seen countless debuts and returns, I must admit that Giovanni Vinci‘s was one of the most unusual ones I’ve ever witnessed! It’s not every day you see a superstar get pinned in just 3 seconds on their return match. I remember when Stone Cold Steve Austin took his sweet time to remove his vest before entering the ring, but Vinci took it to a whole new level!

The WWE Universe was rather intrigued by recent vignettes for Giovanni Vinci, who was shifting to a much different persona than when fans last saw him as part of Imperium. Tonight was supposed to be his big debut, ringing in a new era for the returning superstar, but unfortunately for Vinci, that is not at all what happened. Vinci ended up getting pinned in just 3 seconds by Apollo Crews, who scored a much needed win on his return path and left Vinci speechless and confused as to how to proceed next.

Clearly Distracted

Leonardo (referred as Vinci) stepped forward to greet the audience, and this leisurely approach carried over into his boxing match. In his corner, he would begin to take off his coat, moving at a relaxed pace throughout the action. However, even when the bell signaled the start of the fight, Vinci was still in the process of shedding his coat, showing no urgency to hasten the procedure.

In the heat of the game, I found myself on a totally different frequency compared to Vinci. Instead of taking a breather or preparing like him, I sprinted towards Vinci’s corner. With Vinci still donning his jacket, I swiftly moved in, wrapping him up in a lightning-fast roll-up cover. Somehow, I managed to score the 3-count and claim victory. Vinci was left dumbfounded, attempting to argue with the referee that he wasn’t ready yet. By then, I had already bolted from the ring, reveling in my well-earned triumph.

Man, I just lost my big return match in under 3 seconds, and it’s safe to say that took the wind right out of my sails. But hey, every gamer knows setbacks are part of the game, so I’m gonna regroup and come back stronger next week. I might even challenge Crews again if he’s up for a rematch – though I hope he doesn’t underestimate me this time around. If it takes him as long to prepare for our next match as it did the last one, well, I could be looking at back-to-back wins myself.

WWE Week on USA Network

The upcoming week marks a significant debut for SmackDown on USA Network, having shifted from FOX after a five-year run. Already, an Undisputed WWE Championship match is scheduled for the premiere, and WWE aims to flesh out the event with even more high-profile matches to make it as extraordinary as possible.

For the upcoming three weeks, all WWE shows will air on the USA network. Starting next week, SmackDown will permanently reside on USA Network, while Monday Night Raw remains until 2025, at which point it moves to Netflix full-time. As for NXT, it will stay on USA Network until October, when it transitions to The CW full-time. In the meantime, fans can enjoy all things WWE on USA.

As a devoted fan, I couldn’t help but share my thoughts on Vinci’s impressive debut! If you’re as passionate about wrestling as I am, let’s exchange views on the latest matches and events. You can find me discussing all things wrestling on Threads and Twitter @mattaguilarcb!
