As a longtime WWE fan who’s been through the Attitude Era, the Ruthless Aggression Period, and the Reality Era, I can confidently say that Giulia’s debut is one for the ages! The anticipation has been building ever since she was first rumored to join the ranks of NXT. Now, with her in-ring debut against the formidable Chelsea Green just a week away, it feels like Christmas came early!
At long last, Giulia stepped into the spotlight of WWE during NXT No Mercy, squaring off against the current NXT Women’s Champion, Roxanne Perez, hinting at a future showdown. A few days later on NXT TV, she crossed paths with Perez again, demanding a Title match during the premiere of NXT on CW. The news just kept getting better, and now it’s even more exciting as WWE has announced that Giulia will make her in-ring debut next week on NXT, going head to head with none other than SmackDown standout Chelsea Green in her first WWE bout.
The Real Challenger
The encounter between Perez and Green unfolded when Perez was boasting about her victories as NXT Women’s Champion, and there was anticipation among the audience for Giulia to interrupt. However, Green’s theme song played instead, surprising everyone, and Green was met with a warm reception from the NXT crowd. Green also played coy with the spectators, asking who they thought would emerge onto the stage, before confronting Perez directly.
Green pointed out that while many are discussing Giulia, she is truly the one to watch as a strong Championship contender. He also suggested that it’s time for Giulia to get her chance at the NXT Women’s Championship. As soon as Giulia’s theme song played and she entered the ring, she swiftly demonstrated her dominance by knocking Green down and confronting Perez. During the CW premiere week, Giulia issued a Title challenge, but Green wasn’t about to let that be the final say.
A Welcome Surprise
Next week on NXT, I’ll be going up against Giulia, and it’s unclear if my teammate Piper Niven will join me. The match with Giulia was unexpected, especially given it’s so early in her WWE journey. Yet, I’m thrilled that we’re getting a main roster crossover fight this soon. It offers fans a glimpse into Giulia’s style before the big Championship event, and I always strive to make my opponents look their best.
On SmackDown, Green has been interacting with Michin in an interesting way, and it seems Michin is currently excelling in NXT, having given two fantastic street fights on both brands within the past month. It remains to be seen if this will impact the current storyline, but we can certainly expect Giulia against Green in the near future.
For the remainder of the show, there are quite a few exciting events lined up too. Firstly, there’s going to be not one but two crossovers with TNA, starting with an NXT Tag Team Championship match featuring Axiom and Nathan Frazer against The Rascalz (Zachary Wentz and Trey Miguel). Following this, the Knockouts Championship will have an open challenge issued by Jordynne Grace, and it’s expected that Wendy Choo will step up to the plate after last week’s Impact. Additionally, we’ll see a match between Ridge Holland, who recently betrayed Chase U, and Duke Hudson. While these are all the matches announced so far, there might be more surprises in store!
