WWE's LA Knight Becomes United States Champion at SummerSlam

As a lifelong wrestling fan from the heart of Ohio, let me tell you, SummerSlam 2022 was one for the books! I’ve been following Logan Paul’s journey since his debut and it was an absolute pleasure to see him defend the United States Championship against LA Knight in his hometown. The energy in the arena was electric, and the match did not disappoint.

The United States Championship was on the line at WWE SummerSlam and hometown superstar Logan Paul was all about repping the city of Cleveland as he defended the Title against LA Knight. The two superstars have had their share of run-ins already, but tonight Paul was intent on retaining his Title in front of his hometown. With MGK and a number of friends along for the ride, Paul and Knight battled in and out of the ring, and both superstars pulled out all the stops during the match, including some truly unexpected maneuvers. At one point MGK slipped Paul some brass knuckles, but despite getting clocked in the head, Knight was able to recover and take Paul down anyway, becoming the new United States Champion at SummerSlam.

Not Waiting for the Bell

Instead of waiting for the bell to engage, Paul instantly attacked Knight. In response, Knight retaliated with blows and shoved Paul towards the barricade. He also slammed Paul into the ring barrier and then pushed him into his own water station. After that, Knight rammed the water station into Paul. As Knight mocked Paul’s companions, Paul retaliated by spitting water from his Prime hydration bottle in Knight’s face before shoving him back towards the ring barrier.

In the wrestling match, Paul initially cleared the announce table, only for Knight to unexpectedly headbutt the table, causing it to collide with Paul’s face instead. After that, Knight hurled a heavy bottle at Paul, striking his face, and then hoisted him onto the table, lifting him up on his shoulders for a neckbreaker move. Remarkably, the table remained intact after this brutal impact. Moments later, Knight attempted to pin Paul in the ring, but Paul managed to wriggle free. In response, Knight executed an elbow drop, but Paul swiftly countered with knee strikes to Knight’s ribs. Finally, Paul used his agility to drive Knight into a post.

As a gamer, I hurled my character, Knight, into another part of the arena, then followed up with a colossal lariat. I attempted to taunt him a bit by covering, but Knight retaliated with powerful punches and kicks, regaining some momentum. In response, I countered one of his moves into a suplex and went for the pin, only for Knight to miraculously kick out. Subsequently, I delivered a massive slam, but again, Knight managed to kick out before the count could reach three. With renewed vigor, Knight assaulted me in the corner, then slammed me hard against the turnbuckle and continued stomping on me mercilessly. He executed a running knee and kept pushing forward, delivering another slam and climbing the ropes for an even more devastating attack.

Close Calls and Brass Knuckles

In this action-packed sequence, the knight roused the spectators before leaping high for an elbow drop, only for Paul to miraculously kick out at two. A slight injury seemed to have hampered Paul momentarily, but he showcased his agility with a daring springboard moonsault. In a close call, Paul attempted a KO Punch and came close to pinning the challenger, but managed to escape at just two counts. Later, Paul missed a high-flying splash not once, but twice, yet he countered Knight’s BFT attempt effectively.

As a devoted fan, I witnessed a thrilling moment as Paul attempted another daring move at the top, only to be countered by Knight. He swiftly joined me there and executed a massive superplex on the Champ. In a heart-stopping instant, Knight went for the pin, but alas, the Champ miraculously kicked out at the last second.

Paul asked for MGK and gave him a chain-attached brass knuckles. However, instead of grabbing Paul, Knight was struck by the brass knuckles. Later, Knight managed to hold Paul down and delivered a hit to the BFT, securing the pin and the victory. Congratulations, LA Knight, on becoming the United States Champion!
