WWE’s Lyra Valkyria is Becky Lynch’s Kryptonite, Even with a Broken Nose

In just a short span of time, Lyra Valkyria and Becky Lynch transitioned from friends into fierce adversaries following Lynch’s betrayal some weeks ago. Their clash at Backlash was highly anticipated after their heated exchange last week, and it certainly lived up to expectations, filled with multiple back-and-forth moments that almost resulted in Lynch capturing the Women’s Intercontinental Championship. However, Valkyria managed to prevent that from happening, even though she sustained a suspected broken nose during the match. Remarkably, Valkyria remains Lynch’s kryptonite, extending her title record against Becky to 2 wins, and retaining her championship status after Backlash.

In the game, Valkyria entered brimming with self-assurance, making Lynch appear somewhat off-balance from the get-go. However, Lynch rallied, made a comeback, and even took to running across the field. What stood out throughout the contest was that she was willing to win by any means necessary – this included employing an unconventional strategy like using a chair or manipulating the ring ropes.

In a particular instance, Lynch took the pad away from the turnbuckle and attempted to use it against Valkyria, yet Valkyria managed to avoid being hit initially. However, on the second try, Lynch was successful but Valkyria still managed to escape the pin. During this exchange, at one point, Lynch seemed to accidentally strike Valkyria in the eye area, instead hitting her directly in the nose. In the recording, you can clearly see Valkyria quickly grabbing her nose right after.

Apart from exploiting the turnbuckle for her benefit, Lynch delivered three Manhandle Slams to Valkyria, but it wasn’t sufficient to defeat Valkyria. Instead, Valkyria seized the opportunity and retaliated with a roll-up pin, securing the 3-count at the last moment to successfully keep her Women’s Intercontinental Championship.

Following the contest, Lynch held onto Valkyria aggressively, applying an armbar and refusing to release it despite protests from WWE officials and staff. This move caused significant distress to the Champion, leading them to intervene and eventually pry Lynch off. Medical personnel then attended to Valkyria immediately afterward, so let’s hope she recovers swiftly.
